| BridgitKiido |
Author has written 33 stories for Digimon, Fullmetal Alchemist, Tokyo Mew Mew, Shaman King, Code Lyoko, Yu-Gi-Oh GX, Legend of Zelda, and Yu-Gi-Oh. About Me Name: Katie, Bridgit, BridgitKiido, Kiido, Shirley, Hey You (in context) Age: Physically, I am 19. Socially, I'm a few years behind that. Main Fandoms I Write For: Currently, mostly YuGiOh GX (anime), though I have considered returning to writing for Fullmetal Alchemist, as well as dabbling in Code Lyoko fanfic. I've also written for a few random other fandoms as well. Favorite Fandoms: YuGiOh GX (both anime and manga), Fullmetal Alchemist (mostly the manga, though I respect the anime too), Digimon (all), Shaman King (both anime and manga), Code Lyoko, Haibane Renmei, Gakuen Alice (what I can find of it), Tokyo Mew Mew (both anime and manga), Freakazoid. Though, I'm not picky, and I find a lot of things interesting that aren't on this list. I'm also, incidentally, an avid fan of the Zelda and Pokemon video game serieses. What I Write: Stories that, generally, have a purpose behind them - not necessarily a plot, per se, but always a purpose of one form or another. If I write fluff, it is generally fluff with a point, or is part of a story with a plot behind it. My multi-chapter works tend to have extended plots behind them that I have been considering for a long time. I will also, on occasion, include hints at relationships that extend past friendship between two characters, but these relationships, while they may be important to the fic as a whole, are rarely romantic, persay. Pairings that I am particularly fond of including: Yubel/Judai/Johan (GX), Manjoume/Asuka (GX), Ryou/Yusuke (GX), Roy/Riza (FMA), Maes/Gracia (FMA), Ling/Ran Fan (FMA), Jeremie/Aelita (Code Lyoko), Ulrich/Yumi (Code Lyoko) What I Do Not Write: Stories that don't have any point. I also refuse to write anything with any sexual content, simply because with my lack of knowledge on the subject, it would not turn out well. You will also never see me writing romantic incest (sibling relationships are important, but they are just that - sibling relationships), and the probability of me ever writing anything that pairs Judai and Asuka romantically is low indeed. When it comes to duels in my GX stories, I admittedly try to avoid writing them whenever it's possible for me to do so, though I will write them when needed. I don't play the game in real life and therefore have only a very basic grasp of the mechanics of the game itself, as compared to the characters who go to school for the sole purpose of perfecting their technique. Also, even if I was an expert at the game, honestly, a duel written out in words isn't nearly as interesting as one that's animated, because the animated duel has all of the holographic monsters and dramatic pointing and tones of voice and animated spell effects and dramatic pointing. Rating Policy: I give all of my stories a rating of T. Some of them, I am aware, might be suitable for younger people. However, I rate them all T just to be safe. After all, I don't do it a lot, but some stories will have mild cussing, certain amounts of violence, discussions of such themes as cults (in a highly negative light, I might add) and other things that parents might not want to allow their children to know about until they're older, things that are not politically correct, and the occasional bit of odd humor. While these things may not be suitable for younger readers, I am certain that they are suitable for teenagers (after all, I find them suitable for myself). Review Policy: I will take into consideration all critique given me by reviewers. I read all of my reviews, even though I, admittedly, rarely respond, and I greatly appreciate every review - heck, even seeing that someone favorited one of my fics makes me happy. Anonymous reviews are completely acceptable. And please do feel free to be as blunt about anything you think I'm doing wrong as you want - I can't improve unless I know what I can improve on. As long as the review isn't a blatant insult or a troll (ie. "this suks go die in a fire" including the misspelling and without an explanation as to why), it's perfectly fine. As for when I leave a review myself, such an event is rather rare in and of itself. I only do so in one of two occasions, really. The first, and admittedly rarer, is when I really like a fic; most of the time I only favorite stories I like, but I will occasionally leave reviews if I feel compelled to. The second occasion is when I don't like something for one reason or another and feel as though I absolutely have to say something about it, in which case I try to be polite, but am willing to dish out as much bluntness as I'm willing to take in response to my own fics if necessary. Warning: In my narration, I have been known to show a cynical, sarcastic, critical-on-society, occasionally controversial streak. If you don't like it, I respect your opinion and apologize for offending, but I should hope that you would respect my opinion, as well. And I will not go back and edit something simply because someone is upset that I might have shown my not politically correct views on religion or politics or something. Current Projects - as of September 19, 2009 I now have a fanfic draft journal! At least, that's what I'm calling for lack of better term for the moment. It's basically a place where I'm going to post various pieces of fics that I'm currently working on, where I want to show the pieces but haven't completed the fic yet, or if I complete a later chapter in a long fic and want to post it somewhere even though I haven't gotten far enough to post it here yet. All finalized fics will be posted here, and not all fics will have drafts posted in this journal, but if you're interested in looking and have an account on Livejournal, then please click here - it's friends only because I don't want to have my unfinished works shown to the world at large, but I'm willing to friend just about anyone with that journal if they ask. My next fic is most likely to be a one-shot featuring a five-year-old Manjoume Jun, currently without a title. I can't give you an 'expect by' date, because knowing me, I won't make said self-imposed deadline, but hopefully it'll be ready soon? I also have a possible idea in the works for a GX and Shaman King crossover involving Fubuki, Anna, and Red Eyes, but I'm still working out the details and whether such a thing is plausible. Also on the list of possibilities is a more detailed rewrite of the first chapter of "Candlestick". As for my chaptered works, I'm currently working on two of them - an alternate version of pre-series and season four heavily featuring the Honors Trio and with the working (and probably finalized) title of "For Good", and an alternate universe fic where Fubuki dies and everything attempts to messily implode currently known on site as "Lost Heaven" but undergoing a rewrite and soon to resurface under the (working, probably finalized) title of "Heaven's Charge". My current plan is to work on both "For Good" and "Heaven's Charge" simultaneously. That is, first release one chapter of "For Good", then one chapter of "Heaven's Charge", then the next one of "For Good", and so on. We'll see how well this actually works in practice, but anyway. ("Heaven's Charge", unless plans change, will have one duel and a portion of one written out, while "For Good", by current estimates, will likely have around fourteen duels and portions of three written out - the latter, of course, is going to be one very long fic, if I do everything I want to with it...) The status of "Frozen in Darkness" is, at the moment, rather up in the air, as I want to go back and edit a few things to make it make more sense, but I don't know exactly how much I want to fix up. It's likely to get a complete restart itself. "Digimon: Elemental Mages" will no longer be updated on this site - in fact, when I actually restart it, I will likely take its current incarnation down. It will no longer be a fanfiction piece, and will likely have a different title, among many other different things. For those who might possibly be interested, more details will come as they come. Any other stories I've started and haven't finished or marked as discontinued yet... I'll try to update them someday (I hope), but I'm working hardest on the aforementioned at the moment. And random out-of-the-blue one-shots will still be written as I come up with them - and as I have time, with college and all. Anyway, I've kept you long enough. You've obviously come to read my stories, so please, go ahead! | |||||||||
