Author has written 34 stories for Inuyasha. Who am I? I'm a native of Kansas, neither young nor old, a single woman who programs for a living, and does other things the rest of the time. Such as writing fan-fiction. :) Favorite fiction Science-fiction and fantasy have been my first choice of reading since college. I also used to read a fair number of comics, but the last few years have dropped them. I choose not to have cable television, so I don't follow the latest shows on the SciFi or animation channels. I used to have Netflix, but now mostly find series that I can download or stream over the internet. I will forever be grateful to Netflix, however, since it is through that service that I chanced upon Inuyasha. It started with renting Princess Mononoke and other movies produced by Ghibli Studios, some of which I first saw in the theatres. Having rented every one of those Netflix had in stock, the Inuyasha DVDs started showing up on the 'recommended' lists. I tried the movies-- and, oh, my. I'm hooked. Since then, I've bought most of the DVDs, and the American versions of the manga, watched 'The Final Chapter' on Hulu, and am waiting for the DVDs for those last, twenty-six episodes. And of course, I write Inuyasha fan-fiction. My Fan-Fiction: Looking back at 2011 A week late, but still time to look back at 2011. According to the totals on my spreadsheet, I wrote 105 drabbles or short stories for LiveJournal contests, totalling about 55,000 words (if one counted the first drafts, which usually had to be cut down to meet word limits, it would probably be over 60,000). Add in 53,000 for the NaMoWriMo, and several longer chapters for the serials Blood Unbound and White to Black, I estimate I wrote a total about 130,000 words. Not too bad, being that I was working full time all year. I also started four new collections and one new serial, including: Taiyoukai's Butterfly - A collection of drabbles about Izayoi Whiskers & Claws - All about Kirara These Old Bones - A very old hanyo in modern Tokyo Bound to Tomorrow - A collection of pieces about Inuyasha and Kagome, post-canon Destiny- My newest serial, about Kohaku after he leaves the village at the end of canon
Do I have favorites? I think I like "At the Gates" best among my short-shorts: the 250 or 300-word drabble challenges are an exercise in being succinct. I seem to do fairly well at it, but this one, where Izayoi has returned to her people after the death of the Inu-no-Taisho, is particularly well done, imo. I also have a new favorite original character in Aimiko, Kagome and Inuyasha's first-born. She only has one post-baby story so far, but how many babies can attract the attentionof an inu-taiyoukai? Goals for 2012? Well, the big one has to be finishing Blood Unbound. I made considerable gains in the November writing contest, though I've been slow to get the chapters out. I need to get it done, because there is at least one more serial in the pipeline--if only for the ultimate question, of whether or not Inuyasha and Kikyo do ever get together. For the rest, it's primarily trying to keep up on all the different serials, in particular, getting more plotting done. Waiting For Kagome, Destiny, With One Eye, and White To Black all have definite are the ones I would like to get at least the main plotlines finished. And if I can get Blood Unbound finished, I just might start a new serial -- either one based on Izayoi, or one based on old!Inuyasha...
