I (and a few other people) have tried a couple different times to fix a way so that Beni survives at the end of the movie. From trapdoors to supernatural intervention, everything felt a little contrived, so I decided to do the obvious - make him leave while he still had the chance. Beni returns to Cairo with the riches of Hamunaptra and recieves a hero's welcome. His local celebrity becomes a topic of dark gossip, however, as question rise over how he discovered Hamunaptra in the first place. What happened to the Americans and that egyptologist who went with him? Why are desert warriors doing everything in their power to sabotage his excavation of the city? And who in the world are Evelyn Carnahan and Rick O'Connell? Told mostly through the eyes of Vera, the only person who's ever put up with him. The Lady and the Tramp. They encounter a little snag, however, when Meela appears on the ship with plans to resurrect her ancient lover.
