My name is Alex. I have over 30 Harry Potter fan fictions posted on my main profile. This account was created for the sole purpose of hosting "Caged Up" - a HP fan fiction which is more of a way to express and describe my struggle with ME/CFS than actual entertainment. I direct readers here when they take updating for granted and even in some cases are rude when I can't get a chapter out quick enough for their liking.

I'm still working on how to set up the fic - characters, etc. The fic will basically end up outlining my life (with ME) as Harry's. As such I don't know how or when it will end. And it will be depressing. But good for opening eyes up to the way some people have to live. I am also planning on doing another fic on my main profile probably with the same title, with the same idea but completely a story rather than an outline of a real author's life. It's what I was originally planning on doing and I think it would be a good starting point for readers - read the story, then the true(ish) account.

You may ask, why do a fan fiction, why not keep a diary/blog or something? There are three reasons. One: it's less painful. I've tried writing diaries before and I find them so hard, recounting things I want to remember happening but not relive. Making a fictional character relive it is less painful and also harmless, which brings me to my second point: my life is filled with real people and a lot I am sure would prefer to remain anonymous. Some I would rather not know exactly the way I think of them. And the third reason, is that having a much-loved and popular character suffer would make a bigger impression on most than a diary of a faceless author.

As far as I know I am the first person to do something like this. So wish me luck :)
