Hello! :3 My name's Cat (well duuurrrr) and I am a hopeless fandom-tard. x3 Mostly I go for Fullmetal Alchemist (obsession, anyone?). But, of course, you can tell all of this just by looking at my page. x3 So I will talk about Fullmetal Alchemist on my prof. xD;
I try not to be a pairing-tard, but I am HOPELESS for Hughes and Roy. Their relationship is so human it kills me. ToT I love the dynamics of their relationship more than anything. :3 To me, they're MEANT to be, just not supposed to be. Tragic but true. But NOTHING is perfect! :cue dramatic music: And that's what makes it so. damn. beautiful. :is shot: ...I'm done. x3 I really love the Colonel, and I feel like I can relate to him a lot, so he's my favorite to characterize. Hughes, too, but Mustang's just got it going for him a lot more in my book. x3
Uhm, moving right along... Edward, Hughes, and Roy are my three favorite characters. :3 I love none more than another. They are equal. And they get equal amounts of idiotic fangirling on my part (poor boys).
Other favorite characters: Riza, Alphonse, Heiderich, Gracia, Wrath, Greed, Lust, the Tringham Brothers, Winry, Armstrong, Garfiel, Ling, Noa, and Martel.
Other favorite pairings: Royai, Elricest, Tringhamcest, Hughes/Gracia, Ed/Winry, Ed/Noa, Ed/Rose, Ed/Russell, Winry/Sheska, Winry/Paninya, Al/Martel, Hughes/Ed (Don't judge me! ToT), Hughes/Lust (...you know what, go ahead and judge me xD;), Ed/Heiderich, and the OT3 Hughes/Roy/Ed.
My favorite themes in FMA fanfiction are parental!RoyEd, Ishbal angst, happy!Hughes, Royangst, gags, things involving the Elric brothers that are entirely too philosophical to be fanfiction, and religious themes. ...And pairings. BUT I AM NOT A PAIRING-TARD I SWEAR. :sobs:
My other "main" fandom is Kingdom Hearts. sweatdrop I have a lot of fandoms, but few I obsess over. xD; Not enough room in my life. v.v
And in case you aren't sick of my rambling yet, I'll follow my friend's example and tell you my opinion on yaoi. :3
My opinion: Dude. I LOVE yaoi. I love the dynamics of two guys in a relationship. ...The problem is, no other yaoi fans do. It seems to me that it's becoming more and more about two dudes DOING IT. ...Which, I'll admit, is just FIIIIIINE. :drool: But what's NOT FINE is when the stuff is so... so tasteless! And OOC! Look, I'm guilty of this myself :points to her fic "I Dare You", but I just can't stand it when people pair two hawt fictional guys together because... They're two hot fictional guys together. And if I had a nickel for every fic I've read where Roy invites Ed into his office and makes sexual advances on him, and Ed is TOTALLY okay with it, admits he has a thing for the colonel, followed by extremely tasteless, impossibly flawless, inaccurate to human anatomy BUTTSECKS, the end, I'd have a f-cking ton of nickels.
For starters, Ed doesn't LIKE the Colonel, and he doesn't even consider him a FRIEND until the end of the anime. He has a hard time connecting with him at all, and chances are if Roy made any kind of approach like that towards Ed, he'd freak the f-ck out. Ed is still a pretty young kid, and probably doesn't WANT to be involved with anyone like that. And lastly... Dude. The Colonel would NOT do that. There is nothing to even BEGIN to suggest that Roy is REALLY a sexually frustrated perv who wants in Ed's pants. If you want to write about Roy getting into Ed's pants, make them IC, and make the circumstances appropriate.
Maybe you just want to right about Ed and Roy having sex. But if you write it like that, focused entirely on sex, blatantly defying their characters, you aren't even writing about them anymore, and sometimes, that's like drawing a big mustache on the face of the fandom. I understand how it is when your hormones run rampant - been there - but I prefer to appreciate the dynamics of an actual, meaningful RELATIONSHIP between two people. If you can express THAT while keeping them true to their characters, buttsecks away. x3 IMO, it's only really "hot" when there's something there to base it on. :big smile: Okay?
BTW - I was just using Roy and Ed as an example, since they seem to get the most abuse. I feel that way about every pairing that's made into fics that can be summed up as "WHAM BAM THANK YOU MA'AM" :sweatdrop: You can write whatever you want, just keep in mind that there are always ways to improve on things and make your writing more realistic. x3 Don't feel the need to rush the porn - a lot of people appreciate "bedroom scenes" a lot more when it's very gradual. :3

Anyways, I love a lot of fandoms, characters scenerios, and pairings, so I guess that's why I'm here. x3 I'm mediocre at best, so be nice, mmkay?
