Hello, everyone. I'm not dead...not entirely anyway. I have a
feeling I will be at the end of the week. Why? National Novel Writing
Month. It's all of November. The goal is to write 50,000 words in one
month. This has been sucking up much of my free time, especially
because I am behind. headdesk Anyway, my NanNoWriMo project is called
Fire and Ice, and is an AU Witch Hunter Robin story centering on Amon
and Robin. Maybe once I finish it, I will work on some of my other
projects, such as SFU and my FFX-2 AU fic, Summoner's Soul.

What I look for in fanfic

Good writing. I like the stories I read to be detailed. I like
the narrative to show me what I see, tell me what I should smell, and
even to show me how I should feel. I like OCs that aren't Mary Sues. I
like humor fics to (for one thing be funny, not stupid) exaggerate the
characters' personalities rather than make them act OOC. I like fics to
be well researched. Just because you aren't writing a novel to be
published doesn't mean you shouldn't do research. If you're writing a
fic that takes place in Japan, you should be able to tell me why there
is no Oak St. there. I like good grammar and spelling.

What will make me stop reading a fic

OOCness is the first thing. I hate it when characters aren't the
characters they're supposed to be because they don't act the way they
should. Mary Sues...I want to kill them. They're those perfect God (or
Goddess) like characters that often overshadow the canon characters.
Which brings me to another thing I hate: UnCanon. Please show me that
you've watched the show you're writing about. A fic shouldn't seem like
it's AU if it's not supposed to be.
