About me

I've finally taken the plunge and joined after years of reading from the shadows.

I write all the time but am terrible at updating...I promise that there will be updates even if they take forever!! I have also lived in four different countries (with another scheduled for next year) since I started writing on this website so that has definitely not helped with my update pace!

For anyone who's interested - I was born in Ireland, moved to Vietnam, then England. I'm currently in Japan, moving back to England at the end of this year for a few months, then out to Italy...then we'll see after that!

My first language is English, then Italian, Japanese and Vietnamese in that order...my Irish (gaelic) is appalling since I went to an international school and all the French I once spoke seems to have deserted me along with the Latin I slaved to master in school. Where I'm living in Japan is closer to Seoul (the capital of South Korea) than Tokyo so there are a lot of Korean people here but I communicate with my Korean friends in Japanese. I'm currently studying Japanese (plus literature, cultuer etc), Chinese and Korean at a Japanese university.

About my stories

I've written lots of fics but not many of them have made the transition from hard-drive/notebook to internet.

My main project is Job Interview which is an alternate universe fic focusing on the relationship between Heero and Relena. I don't usually read or write AU stories but this idea took hold of me and wouldn't let go!

The first chapter started off an a one-shot to help cheer up one of my friends who had had a disastrous job interview. I later tied this in with some other drabbles I had written about Heero and Relena and the story started from there. As such I still feel that the first chapter is by far the weakest in the story so please withhold judgement until the later chapters.

Aftermath: My secondary project is another Gundam Wing fic set after the series and Endless Waltz. I feel that this one is much closer to the true characters and I'm looking forward to updating it. I am fascinated by the Zero system and the effects it could have on those using it. This is also my attempt to realistically portray the relationships between the characters after all that they went through together in the series and how they deal with their various demons.

I've handwritten most of it but it needs to be typed up and edited. My update rate for this story closely follows Job Interview as I tend to move between fics.

I also have a one-shot, Sacrifice (more of a character exercise for myself than anything more) It looks at Relena's thoughts concerning a peaceful future and the sacrifices that have to be made to realise her ideal. It is an old piece and it shows, so I have considered deleting it but I also feel that it shows how I have changed and developed as a writer. Definitely not my best piece by far, but it's the story that gave me the courage to first post on this website so I'm a little sentimental!

There is also the beginning of a Fruits Basket fic called Everyday which will be updated despite the long hiatus. It was put on a back burner because of my focus on the Gundam Wing stories, but I have still been writing!

A number of new stories are also taking shape (both within the Gundam Wing world and for other anime) and should hopefully be appearing soon - look out for them!

I am currently writing another Gundam Wing fic, a Final Fantasy VII fic and two Naruto stories (plus a number of one-shots for various fandoms) so hopefully they will appear soon!

4/1/09 - Happy New Year everyone! Still can't believe that it's 2009 already - 2008 went so quickly!

Anyway, I'm sure you'll be glad to know that Chapter 18 of Job Interview is finally out!

A massive thank you to everyone who has stuck with Job Interview for as long as they have - it has been a long long journey but I will keep writing until the story has been told!

6/2/09 - Hello everyone! How are you doing? Just to let you know that I've been working hard on my writing even though there haven't been updates yet. I spent most of last weekend and all of today writing, although a lot of it has been for the later chapters of Job Interview rather than the one I am currently editing. I had great fun writing the interaction between Treize, Relena and Heero at the leaving party!

Right smack bang in the middle of important exams so probably not good that I've spent the entire day writing. I'm hoping to have an update ready by this evening for Job Interview(aiming for once a month so I'm roughly on schedule) and hopefully one tomorrow for Aftermath, although if it isn't finished by then it will be pushed back to next weekend because of the exams

Believe it or not I've almost entirely edited the next chapter of Everyday as well as I have decided not to put any new stories up until all of my current ones have been updated. Also, for the first time, after my solid three days of writing the end of Job Interview is finally in sight...there are still quite a few more chapters to go so don't worry! If I keep updating at one chapter a month it will be finished before the end of 2009 and I'll be kind of sad to let it go I think!

13/2/09 - Exams are over! Yay! I'm away to a few places around Kyushu for two days after this, then five days in Kyoto, but after that I will have far too much time on my hands so look forward to lots of updates! Your reviews have been keeping my spirits up during my exams so thank you very much!

9/3/09 - Updates for stories are due but I just lost an entire two chapters of Aftermath so I'm fuming...just can't bring myself to rewrite it right now.

Luckily it's not the next chapter but is still really frustrating - going to take a break now and eat dinner and then i will write again - hope to see you soon!

9/5/09 - hello everyone and sorry for my long absence from this website!

I spent around a month travelling all around the southern half of Honshu (the main island in Japan) - the furthest north i got was Tokyo!

Since I got back to Kyushu I've been studying for an important exam which i did yesterday and hopefully passed. The lead-up to the exam was marked, as usual, by a lot of inspiration to do with my writing...so look out for an update soon!

I'm planning to spend most of the day writing followed by a trip to a second-hand bookshop as my reward for getting through the exam...update coming soon!

24/5/09 - Re-uploaded Chapter 1 of Everyday as there were a lot of errors that needed to be fixed, plus Chapter 2 has also been published. Other edits also underway - will let you know as they are uploaded!
