Author has written 63 stories for Misc. Books, Jedi Apprentice, Star Wars, Stargate: SG-1, 4400, Law and Order: SVU, Stargate: Atlantis, Harry Potter, Sailor Moon, Twilight, Chronicles of Narnia, X-Men: The Movie, Doctor Who, Torchwood, and G. I. Joe.

THIS JUST IN: Update, August 13th, 2009

I'm still alive, I swear! I know, I'm sorry I've been so quiet. This is my first profile update since February and I've barely posted anything for ages. Fear not, though. I now have a ton of things sitting around my computer waiting to be shown the light of day. Some are finished, some are just about finished, and I've got plot bunnies coming out my ears! Torchwood: Children of Earth has done that to me. So, expect to see lots of new fics soon!

I'll also be moving to college on the 29th (eep!), and I think I'll have more time for writing then, at least in the four days before school actually starts. So I'll be able to get lots of the bunnies nicely written so they'll stop biting me. Or maybe I'm just crazy. That's always a possibility. ;-D

And don't forget, Torchwood Tales, my collection of Torchwood drabbles, was my 50th story posted on this site. In celebration, if you review any of its chapters, you will get a review on one your stories in return guaranteed, assuming its in a fandom I read. I'm pretty sure I've caught up on all of these now, but if you haven't been reviewed back, feel free to PM me a reminder. :-)

Ta ta until next time. (And it won't be six months from now, I promise!)

MY SO-CALLED LIFE: About Me

I'm an 18-year-old girl living in a small town in Wisconsin who wants to become a professional writer someday. One loony dog, two (usually) likeable siblings, a divorced family, and a stepdad - just the usual.

I'd been writing for a few years already when in 2005 I stumbled upon a blog about someone's NaNoWriMo progress. I thought it sounded interesting, so I ran to check it out. I've been obsessed ever since, and I scored wins in both '06 and '07 both with exactly 50,036 words each time (an auspicious number, methinks). I'm editing and posting them chapter by chapter at my FictionPress account if you want to check them out. I also did just over 21k in the inaugural Script Frenzy in 2008. (If you have no idea what all of that gibberish was about, you should definitely check out www(dot)nanowrimo(dot)org and www(dot)scriptfrenzy(dot)org - you won't be sorry!)

I, CosmicalMadison, do solemnly swear to review all the fics I read, regardless of the number of reviews, its age, or anything else.

I have joined the review revolution

FANNISH OBSESSIONS: My Fandoms

Doctor Who

Favorite Character: Ten
(Like everyone else, I'm going to miss David Tennant so much come next year, regardless of how much I'm looking forward to seeing Matt Smith.)

Least Favorite Character: Martha
(No offense to anyone. Freema is a great actress, but I just don't like Martha as much as the other companions. She always just seems to get in trouble, and her pining for the doctor is frankly more than little annoying.)

OTP: Jack/Ten
(And to believe that I didn't like slash before I started watching this show. :P It just goes to show what canon slash and acquired taste will do for you. And the two of them are just perfect for each other. Jack will live forever (or not, depending on your stance on the whole Face of Boe issue), and the Doctor almost forever. They especially need to meet up again after CoE for some good, old-fashinoned h/c... sniff)

Other Pairings I Support: Nine/Rose, Ten/Rose, Jack/Nine, Ten/Jackson
(The first two are canon, of course, but the other two practically are as well if you look hard enough.)

Squick Me: Martha/Ten, Jack/Rose, Donna/Ten
(Yes, I know that I have a fic posted for the last one. It was written after I had only seen one episode Midnight and was woefully underinformed about the series as a whole. I am now definitely a member of the "they're best friends and nothing more" camp.)

Favorite Episodes, Series 1: The End of the World, Dalek, Father's Day, Boom Town, and Bad Wolf
Favorite Episodes, Series 2: New Earth, Tooth and Claw, School Reunion, The Satan Pit, Fear Her,and Doomsday
Favorite Episodes, Series 3: Smith and Jones, The Shakespeare Code, Gridlock, Family of Blood, 42, and Utopia
Favorite Episodes, Series 4: The Fires of Pompeii, The Doctor's Daughter, Midnight, The Stolen Earth, and Journey's End
Least Favorite Episodes: The Long Game (because I can't stand Adam) and Love and Monsters (because I'm not a big fan of Doctor-light episodes, though Blink was okay)
Favorite Christmas Speical: The Next Doctor
Least Favorite Christmas Special: Voyage of the Damned (It just seemed like a rip-off of Poseidon to me.)
Favorite Children in Need Special: Time Crash
Least Favorite Children in Need Special: The Next Doctor preview

Episodes I Haven't Seen: Daleks in Manhattan and Evolution of the Daleks

Torchwood

Favorite Character: Jack
(I've loved him ever since he was on Doctor Who. He's such an interesting character, not to mention mysterious and handsome. And don't even get me started on John Barrowman. He is just the awesome, and I'll stop there before I go on for ten pages. :D)

Least Favorite Character: Gwen
(I'll freely admit that she's not a totally terrible person, but I'm certainly not a fan of hers. I mean, you can see from the beginning that she's not the greatest person. She lies to Rhys about being at the crime scene in Everything Changes, she's whiny and controlling (Jack's wrapped around her little finger in Adrift!), and she likes to make everything about her. Even after everything that happened to Jack in CoE, he was still supposed to be all about her. Ugh.)

OTP: Jack/Ianto
(Isn't it everyone's? Nobody can resist canon slash. Plus they're both pretty, so what's not to love? At the risk of spoilers, I'm still working on coping with CoE. I think I'm just starting to move into the "acceptance" phase of grief now. But there are AU fics to come!)

Other Pairings I Support: Jack/real!Jack, Jack/John, Owen/Tosh, Owen/Diane, Gwen/Rhys, Gwen/Owen

Squick Me: Jack/Gwen, Ianto/Owen, Ianto/Tosh, Jack/Tosh
(I'll stand by the fact that Gwack makes me naustious, even though I have written a few fics with the pairing. Hey, when the bunnies bite, you gotta write, yes? :-) However, I'll admit that I really like the weapons training scene in Day One. I'm just weird like that, I guess. Also, I'm just kinda freaked out by any other pairings within the team that aren't ever referenced in canon.)

Favorite Episodes, Series 1: Cyberwoman, Small Worlds, Countrycide, Out of Time, Captain Jack Harkness, and End of Days
Favorite Episodes, Series 2: Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, Meat, Reset, Adrift, Fragments, and Exit Wounds
Favorite Episode, Series 3: Day Four (Don't judge me. Of course there's that part, but there were a lot of moments I really liked, too, especially Ianto holding Jack as he comes back to life toward the beginning and all the other moments between them in that episode.)
Least Favorite Episodes: Random Shoes (because there isn't enough of the team), Combat (because some of the team seemed OOC to me, no offense to Noel Clarke), and Something Borrowed (ahh, kill the Gwack! Though I guess the Janto at the end makes up for it a bit, though of course not entirely!)

Episodes I Haven't Seen: None! Though, along with a lot of you, I'd like to retcon away a good portion of Children of Earth...

( Doctor Who/Torchwood Survey Thing )

Who is your favourite Doctor?

Ten!

What is your favourite episode?

This is an unfair question. I like so many of them, but it was really cool to see everyone in The Stolen Earth.

Who is your favourite companion?

JACK HARKNESS! When I first saw The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, I didn't like him, but now he's my all-time fave.

Who/what is your favourite villain/monster?

That's a good question. I'm not really sure... Perhaps the Cybermen.

Who do you ship?

Doctor Who: 9/Rose, 10/Rose, 9/Jack, 10/Jack, 10/Jackson
Torchwood: Jack/Ianto, Jack/real!Jack, Jack/John, Owen/Tosh

Chris or David?

I love-love-love David, but Chris was great too. (I saw G.I. Joe last night just because of him and almost squeed myself to death!)

Rose or Martha?

Rose.

Rose or Donna?

Donna.

Donna or Martha?

Donna. (I just don't really like Martha. See the Doctor Who section above for details.)

Daleks or Cybermen?

Cybermen.

River or Reinette?

I really don't like either, and even if I had to pick, it's hard to say...

What's your fave piece of Who merchandise?

DVDs that have been watched more times than is probably healthy.

Who's your favourite member of Torchwood?

Jack! With Ianto coming in at a close second.

What's your favourite episode?

Probably Children of Earth: Day Four. See Torchwood section above.

Jack/Ianto or Jack/Gwen?

Janto forever! Kill Gwack with fire!

Who is your favourite Doctor from the Classic series?

I've hardly seen any, but Five is good.

Who is your favourite companion from the Classic series?

Don't really know anything about any of them other than Sarah Jane.

Which Classic series character would you love to guest-star in the current series?

Let's say Romana.

Would you like to be the next Doctor?

Nah, someone else could do a better job.

Do you want to be the next companion?

Duh! What sane Whovian fangirl wouldn't want that? :D

READ 'EM AND WEEP: My Stories

You'll mostly see me doing oneshots, drabbles, and other short ficlets. I have a hard time finishing anything over a few chapters long, though I'm trying to get better at this.

I also refuse to delete my old things, because I'm sentimental like that. The following stories of mine are incomplete and will probably stay that way indefinitely. My apologies to anyone who was following them.

Fitting In - X-men: The Movie
Harry Potter and the Next Generation: Year One - Harry Potter
How I Feel About You - Stargate SG-1
Coming Home - Stargate SG-1
Allia: Rise of Evil - Jedi Apprentice

GO AFTER INSPIRATION WITH A CLUB: Give This A Try

I first heard about the iTunes Challenge from from PellMell, and it's since become my absolute favorite. It's good for a quick write when the writer's block hits, and I've already done it four times (three are posted, and the next is coming soon). To give it a try yourself, follow these simple instructions:

1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Turn on your iPod and put it on shuffle.
3. Write a ficlet related to each song that plays. You only have the time frame of the song to finish the drabble; you start when the song starts and stop when it’s over.
4. Do ten, then post them.

Voila, you have now completed the iTunes Challenge! :D

I am the girl ... that doesn't go to school dances, and when I do go, I sit in a corner and read a book. I am the girl that people look through when I say something. I am the girl that spends most of her free time reading, writing, or doing other activities that most teenagers wouldn't call normal. I am the girl that people call weird and a freak, either behind my back or to my face. I am the girl that doesn't spend all her time on MySpace or talking to a girlfriend on a cellphone or a regular phone. I am the girl that hasn't been asked out in a year. I am the girl that has stopped to smell the flowers and jump and splash in the rain.

But I am also the girl who knows and is proud to be who she is, doesn't care if people call her weird, who loves reading and writing and doing the things that no one seems to have the time to do anymore, who loves and is obsessed with Torchwood, who can express herself better with words, and knows the importance of the little things.

Copy and paste this onto your account and add your name to the list if you are anything like me, so the girls who are different and unique can know in their weakest times that they are unique, but not alone.

~ PrettyFanGirl, Truth Be Told 13, DEFiiANCE, Angel of Apathy, Vic Taylor, CosmicalMadison

I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.
I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.
I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.
We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.
I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.
I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.
I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.
I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.
We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom apartment for two men.
I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.
I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman.
I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.
I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.
I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.
I am the home economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.
I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.
I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I did not have to always deal with society hating me.
I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.
I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.
I am the person who is afraid of telling his loving Christian parents he loves another male.

Re-post this if you believe homophobia is wrong. Please do your part to end it.

(These all make me so sad. It's just wrong that we have to treat people this way just because they're a bit different. Love is love, people, be it a man and a woman, two men, or two women.)
