Working in theatre. Writing Final Fantasy Fic. Playing Final Fantasy. Posting listlessly on LiveJournal. Gearing up for the inevitable tsunami of homework I'm facing in the coming months. Fantasizing about the possible study-abroad-in-Japan thing I'm crossing my fingers about. Not writing or reading anything related to Harry Potter, in all honesty. Wondering if I should quit the fandom entirely, except I've got too many friends in it. Posting listlessly on LiveJournal. Eating sushi. Hanging out with friends. Ignoring obnoxious family members. Fighting with internet. Not having internet. Posting listlessly on LiveJournal. Exorcising viruses from my computer and body. You get the idea. Why don't you write more romance? It pains me to say this, but because there isn't any in my life. In fact, nor has there ever been. I am not happy with this, and writing romance has this awful tendency to remind me of the lack thereof going on in the real world. So I write Gen and put my characters through hell because it's fun. I like to challenge myself to see just how insane I can make Regulus Black, Sirius Black, or Peter Pettigrew. Eventually, I'll scrape the bottom of the barrel, but the fun really has only just begun. So far, I've breezed through family issues, OCD, paranoia, insomnia, inferiority complexes, superiority complexes, and general absolute terror. What horrors should I heap upon these characters next, I wonder? Are you ever going to finish Hate is Such a Strong Word? Yeesh. I try to pretend it doesn't exist, honestly. Long answer: Not unless I'm willing to take the time and energy to completely overhaul the story, give it a coherent plot and character development, delete the obnoxious fannish bits, and actually, you know, have the relationship between Lily and James happen believably. Short answer: No. So, Cupid, what sort of things do you like? Video games, theatre, art, mask-making, Law and Order (Det. Green, have my babies), writing (obviously), Aladdin, The Emperor's New Groove, cult classics, musicals, reading, singing obnoxiously in the shower, stargazing, cats, bras that don't itch, blond guys, offbeat music like Imogen Heap and Straylight Run, Incubus (the band, not the demon), crisp and cloudy days, snow, sushi, cookies, jackets that actually keep me warm, converse, jewelry, the Boondock Saints, skirts, Willem Defoe, National Geographic, history, marine biology, people in general, bad horror movies, Ryan Gosling... Why haven't you been writing? Well, it's partially lack of interest. I've been out of the HP loop lately, and I'm not really too interested in getting back into it. I'll write when I feel like it, but it's going to be a trickle, I'm afraid. Also, I've been having computer issues out the wahzoo. And it's getting harder for me to write short pieces anymore and I'm far more interested in writing 50,000 words about my own characters than 50,000 words about someone else's, you know? Plus, I'm in my first year at university, and that eats up lots of time.
