Chapter Summaries

Chapter 5 - Mimi wakes up late one night to go to the bathroom but finds Yamato standing in front of a closed door. She asks what's inside, but he dodges the question and tells her that it's just a closet, although Mimi's not convinced and thinks that he's his "secret collection" in there. At school, Yamato and Mimi head the class with planning for the school festival. The class decides on hosting a coscafe (costume/cosplay cafe). Later that day, Yamato and Mimi attend a meeting for student representatives. To their surprise, Jyou has a seat reserved for himself next to Mimi, and she ends up spending all of her time listening to Jyou instead of planning with Yamato. Because of her infatuating, she forgets to ask the theater club about the costumes for the cafe. Word gets to their classmates after school and they start losing their trust in Mimi, even though she vowed that she'd try her best to make things a success. Yamato goes to the theater club and persuades them to change them minds. On his way back to the classroom, he finds Mimi standing over the edge of the stairwell at the top of the stairs to the cafeteria. She tries to hide it, but Yamato knows she's been crying--he knew she heard the things they were saying about her. He tries to comfort her, but in her embarrassment and shame, she tells him to leave her alone and runs down the stairs to Primary Garden where she meets Jyou. Yamato returns to the classroom to finish his class rep work (alone, again) only to see Mimi sitting with Jyou below in the garden from the classroom window. Taichi passes by, coming from soccer club and figures out what has taken Yamato's attention and comments about how they'd make a cute couple. Hearing this, Yamato runs to the garden to find the two still talking in the garden. In between his gasps for air, Yamato asks her if she's finished the work but she only shakes her head, not even answering him. He leaves and returns to the classroom and shuts the window. After pacing for a while, he retires to sit at his desk and ruffles his hair in frustration. Mimi returns to find him at his desk and creates small talk. She finds it strange that he never answered him once. After overcoming her hesitation, she finds out that he's got a fever. At the mansion, she sits by his side and apologizes for making him mad with all of the trouble she caused. When she leaves, Yamato opens her eyes and she's stupid for thinking that he was mad at her because of that. He was mad at what happened in the garden.

Chapter 1 - Mimi Tachikawa encounters Yamato Ishida after being chased by Kabuterimon. In a run for survival, Yamato ends up being injured by the virus Digimon after he tries attacking with his Fox Fire attack. With Yamato injured, Mimi runs in front of him and a green light bursts from the crest around her neck. Kabuterimon defeated, the two are met by Sora Takenouchi who invites them to the mansion. Mimi and Yamato are left alone, but Yamato's rudeness and Mimi's impulsiveness left the conversation dead with her barging out of the mansion and into the school garden where she meets Jyou Kido. Joe notices the crest around her neck and realizes that there is something special about her, but before he could get to know the "cute princess" any further, Yamato interrupts the Student Council President's advances and eventually persuades Mimi to return to the mansion with him. During dinner, Yamato and Sora reveal to Mimi that she will be transferring into Infinity Gakuen--the academy Yamato, Sora, and Jyou attend.

Basic Information - Think of this as a book report!
Setting: File Island, all of the DigiDestined are one year older than they are in the series (possibly from staying in the Digital World for so long)

Character & Relationship Development - If the story drags, please tell me. I'm putting as much depth and attention to each character as I can. This series will focus on the Digimon Adventure 01 characters (with the exception of Motomiya Jun). If you've watched all of Digimon Adventure 01 (all the way through the Dark Masters arc), then this fanfic will be a treat to read. I put a twist on the Digimon 01's final arc and you'll see what I mean as the chapters progress. If the fanfic is too slow, please tell me!! I don't want to bore you to death with so much writing and not enough movement in the plot, but I do want to develop a lot with the characters.
Yamato/Mimi: Things are looking better, don't you think?
Taichi/Sora: Secret!
Taichi/Mimi: Taichi's trying and Mimi's been rejecting him over and over, hehe. It's fun writing them together.

Jyou/Mimi: They've got the senpai/kouhai relationship going on. Jyou is kind of out of character, but I hope not so much.
Koushirou/Mimi: Secret!
Takeru/Hikari: They haven't even made an appearance in the series yet, but their connection will be a little bit of a shock.
Yamato/Jun: Jun is the head of a fanclub for him, but nothing more.. I shudder to think about writing her in as a potential bachelorette.

Organization - The story might be cumbersome with all of the text, but it probably won't do any good if you just skip around to look for dialogue. (I'm guilty of it a lot in stories.) I'm trying to make the story flow as if it were like an anime or a real soap opera. Text breaks between dialogue are there to put a pause between the speaking or to fit in an action. If you skim through that, you'll miss out on what Taichi's eyes are wandering off to or Koushirou typing a few words into the love letter he's writing on his laptop! As for the direction of the story, how it's set up is really simple. The story will mainly be two arcs divided into a few parts. The parts will each focus on a specific character. You'll have to read on to see what happens.

Spoiler? - So far, this is just the beginning of the Jyou/Mimi arc. And for Yamato/Mimi? They've got their own secret agenda. The Prologue, surprisingly, wasn't added just for perks. It will eventually fall into place as the fanfic comes to a close, so don't disregard it! I didn't know if I'd be able to tie it in with the story, but I think I know how!
