I'm cool with slash/yaoi/yuri/het, but I'm not rabid about it. If I'm serious about a fandom, I will more than likely avoid reading/writing it. Lord of the Rings is my case in point. I prefer to simply operate inside the universe within the storyline confines, working around what Tolkien set in stone & writing about the happenings of an unrelated character rather than re-creating. My reasoning? I cannot do it justice.
