Hey guys! I'm not dead, I swear. School's been a killer though, but I've only got one week left :grins: It's not going to take me much longer to get out the next chapter of Smooth Sailing, but I do have finals this week. I'm trying to fit writing in my schedule, but the chapter might not come out until after school is over.

Part of the reason I'm taking so long between chapters is Iwas inspired to write some more of my book. I'm about halfway through writing it, actually. :beams: Writing your own book isn't like writing fanfiction at all, and all those who love writing should give it a try. Anyway, if I'm not writing my book (or busy with school, family life, and possibly an internship at a newspaper :crosses fingers:), you'll see updates more often.

Kagome or Kikyo, Inuyasha:
Status: Complete. Hopefully I'll get a chance to go back and revamp it. I cringe whenever I read it over. There are so many mistakes in the plot and with my grammar...

Status: Abandoned, unless I decide to go back and revamp the entire story (including its prequel, KKI) which might happen eventually. Tears of the Sky doesn't seem to be writing it, so I guess it's up to me to finish it.

C2: A WISE Decision

Hey guys, listen up, as everyone should hear this:

I belong to a Aria's Ink, a Sailor Moon Fanfiction Community, and lately we've been very concerned over the declining state of all the fandoms and writing in general. So, over the past few days, I and a lot of dedicated members helped to develop W.I.S.E., a program to help restore the fandoms to its former glory. W.I.S.E. stands for 'Writing to Improve Standards of Excellence', and its aims are to improve fanfiction writing by encouraging authors through honest critiques of their works. By critiquing honestly, writers are better able to learn from their mistakes and grow in their writing, thus we get better fanfiction in general.

W.I.S.E. isn't just about getting reviews, it's also about establishing a connection between authors and readers. Authors can help the critiquing process by leaving discussion questions such as "Are there any particular phrases, images or scenes that stand out and linger?" or "Does the beginning invite you into the story and pique your interest?" By opening a dialogue with your readers, you'll get better feedback and learn more about your readers than saying "Read and review!" at the end of each update.

Here are some things to get started with the critique:
1) Are they in character, or could they be more in character and still get their story across (and point out where)?
2) Are they lacking in description? If so, where?
3) Do you see a common mistake in their grammar that they keep making over and over (ex. Their, there, they're)?
4) What part did you like best? Do you see any scenes that could have been a little more developed than it was?

Any questions like thes are very helpful to the author, though remember to be nice about it. No one likes it when others shove things down their throat. So W.I.S.E. up! Read a fic, Review a fic, Revive the fanfic community!
