Esperanza Fuega: The art of butchering foreign languages to create a pen name. I get a lot of questions about that, so here's the short version: Freshman year of high school, in Spanish, I decided I wanted a super cool pen name. (Previous ones included Clarinet Seraphim... I can't remember any of the rest, so just use that as an example of supreme hideousness.) I got out my handy-dandy Spanish-English dictionary. I wanted something neat, like maybe Fire of Hope, but I completely bolloxed it and ended up with Hope Fire. Now I'm majoring in Spanish. Funny ol' world, innit? If you get a 'mean' review from me... chances are, you deserved it. I have practically no patience for stories whose major plot is "Oh, I think I'll wake up and write myself into the House universe, and then Chase will fall in love with me_____!!!!" or "Hmm. What would happen if Bones got raped, and she got over it due to Booth's magical cock of healing? That would be AWESOME!" And please don't whip out "Don't like it, don't read it" because while that is valid, most of my reviews these days are of a decidedly more constructive nature than they used to be. I'm not putting a huge gob of information about me here, because no one needs to know that, and it's annoying. That little pen-name anecdote is probably the only one here. My livejournal is public.
