This marvelous picture reminded me of Houses' final nude pose in CLICK, BABY, CLICK.

CURRENT HOUSE FANFICTIONS:

REMEMBER ZION: This is the SECOND SEQUEL to GONE WITH the WORLD & RIDDLED With HEAVEN. A reader/reviewer's suggestion made me consider it and then the whole idea of it started to form in my noggin. Thanks to said reader - You know who you are! 8). Slash, etc...

GOING INSIDE-OUT: House goes to a mental institution and Wilson must cope with the repurcussions. Based on Season 5 spoilers/rumors. (Several chapters up)

HEY ALL: I'm looking for a plot. I want to write another book-length House MD story. Not AU (though probably slash). I want it to be other than hurt/comfort (though it will no doubt contain some), with a medical case, a serious problem for House or House/Wilson..something unusual and angsty but not maudlin that challenges the characters. I want them to be shaken up! But I'm having a hell of a time finding an idea that excites me enough to want to write the thing. Anyone got any ideas?

UPCOMING FIC'S: These I will get to as soon as time allows. (Much is inked, just little typed).

LIQUID ADDICTIONS. (Inked but nothing typed or posted yet.) House has a secret lover who knows when to keep silent and, more importantly, when to speak. SLASH. House/other, House/Wilson. Smut, plain and weird but simple. Wrote this one in Mexico.

POWERLESS: A city wide power outage almost shuts Plainsborough down for three days and the hospitals' generators are scarse. House has to diagnose and treat his patient without the benefit of modern medical equipment. This will be written and completed, but it's in note form only right now. Epsodic.

Criminal Minds: Reid gets targeted by a killer working in Washington. (Some day this will come)

SOME COOL NEWS: I now have fanfiction stories being translated into Russian, Spanish, Chinese and Polish!

A warm thank you to all those readers who felt the stories merited it and the translators for their hard work. I am speechless!

PhaHks (X-Files), Bones & Muldermass - Russian.

Retrospect (House MD) - Spanish & Chinese

One Step Closer Away (House MD) - Polish

No one makes a living writing fanfiction but it's nice to know I could.

As of January 6th, 2009 I am returning to school and working part time also. There may be litle time for fic's for 6 months.

An American perspective on Canada ...
By Samantha Bennett
Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

You live next door to a clean-cut, quiet guy. He never plays loud music or throws raucous parties. He doesn't gossip over the fence, just smiles politely and offers you some tomatoes. His lawn is cared-for, his house is neat as a pin and you get the feeling he doesn't always lock his front door.

He wears Dockers. You hardly know he's there. And then one day you discover that he has pot in his basement, spends his weekends at peace marches and that guy you've seen mowing the yard is his spouse. Allow me to introduce Canada.

The Canadians are so quiet that you may have forgotten they're up there, but they've been busy doing some surprising things. It's like discovering that the mice you are dimly aware of in your attic have been building an espresso machine. Did you realize, for example, that our reliable little tag-along brother never joined the Coalition of the Willing? Canada wasn't willing, as it turns out, to join the fun in Iraq. I can only assume American diner menus weren't angrily changed to include "freedom bacon," because nobody here eats the stuff anyway.

And then there's the wild drug situation: Canadian doctors are authorized to dispense medical marijuana. Parliament is considering legislation that would not exactly legalize marijuana possession, as you may have heard, but would reduce the penalty for possession of under 15 grams to a fine, like a speeding ticket. This is to allow law enforcement to concentrate resources on traffickers; if your garden is full of wasps, it's smarter to go for the nest rather than trying to swat every individual bug. Or, in the United States, bong.

Now, here's the part that I, as an American, can't understand. These poor benighted pinkos are doing everything wrong. They have a drug problem: Marijuana offences have doubled since 1991. And Canada has strict gun control laws, which means that the criminals must all be heavily armed, the law-abiding civilians helpless and the government on the verge of a massive confiscation campaign. (The laws have been in place since the '70s, but I'm sure the government will get around to the confiscation eventually.) They don't even have a death penalty!

And yet .. nationally, overall crime in Canada has been declining since 1991. Violent crimes fell 13 percent in 2002. Of course, there are still crimes committed with guns -- brought in from the United States, which has become the major illegal weapons supplier for all of North America -- but my theory is that the surge in pot-smoking has rendered most criminals too relaxed to commit violent crimes. They're probably more focused on shoplifting boxes of Ho-Hos from convenience stores.

And then there's the most reckless move of all: Just last month, Canada decided to allow and recognize same-sex marriages. Merciful moose, what can they be thinking? Will there be married Mounties (they always get their man!)? Dudley Do-Right was sweet on Nell, not Mel! We must be the only ones who really care about families. Not enough to make sure they all have health insurance, of course, but more than those libertines up north.

This sort of behavior is a clear and present danger to all our stereotypes about Canada. It's supposed to be a cold, wholesome country of polite, beer-drinking hockey players, not founded by freedom-fighters in a bloody revolution but quietly assembled by loyalists and royalists more interested in order and good government than liberty and independence. But if we are the rugged individualists, why do we spend so much of our time trying to get everyone to march in lockstep? And if Canadians are so reserved and moderate, why are they so progressive about letting people do what they want to?

Canadians are, as a nation, less religious than we are, according to polls. As a result, Canada's government isn't influenced by large, well-organized religious groups and thus has more in common with those of Scandinavia than those of the United States, or, say, Iran. Canada signed the Kyoto global warming treaty, lets 19-year-olds drink, has more of its population living in urban areas and accepts more immigrants per capita than the United States. These are all things we've been told will wreck our society. But I guess Canadians are different, because theirs seems oddly sound.

Like teenagers, we fiercely idolize individual freedom but really demand that everyone be the same. But the Canadians seem more adult -- more secure.

They aren't afraid of foreigners. They aren't afraid of homosexuality. Most of all, they're not afraid of each other.

I wonder if America will ever be that cool.

Top Ten Reasons Why Gay Marriage Is Wrong:

1) Being gay is not natural. Real American's always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3)Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behaviour. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and
can sign a marriage contract.

4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans

GeeLady, me, is a Canadian lady who has been writing Fanfiction since 1976, back when the only fanfictions available were in paper-bound fanzines and you had to wait six months to see your story in print. I was published in Skylarking Digest, Heroes & Pen Trek (there were others but I can't remember the names just now and they're buried in my basement).

I started with Starsky and Hutch in 1976 and moved on to Star Trek: TOS, Star Trek: TNG, & Star Trek:DS9. I then warped into the world of X-Files and didn't look back until about thirty stories/poems were complete (including 4 book lengths). All archived a The Gossamer Project.

Around this time, I began to write my own poetry, short stories and finally a novel length fantasy/adventure which (after seven years) I'm still trying to get published.

For a short time last year I waded back into Fanfiction with a Buffy/Spike centric Two Parter at www.fanfiction.net/s/3195527/1/A_New_Englishman_in_Fork_Part_I_AND_II_COMPLETE

or here:

http://spuffyonline.com/bscentral/viewstory.php?sid=585 or www.talkabouttelevision.com/group/alt.tv.buffy-v-slayer.creative/

or www.buffytalk.com

Then left again to work on my second (unpublished as yet) novel. (Though recently a shorter piece of mine has made it into another author's anthology - woo-hoo!)

When House MD presented itself to me I'd found my next Fanfic pool and decided a cannon-ball entry. What fun!

Click the following link for an article featuring my first editor, L.R.H. Balzer, the one who influenced, admonished and inspired me to keep writing.

My books: Quest, Quest II, Proto-Sign: Universal Conversational Signing - A Guide, The Organic Carrot.

My other Stories: Turtle Man, The Cabin, When The Cat's Away, The Kind Old Lady With Odd Socks and Yellow Boots,

"Don't tell me he's angry. Show me he's angry.

Don't tell me she's sad. Show me she's sad."

GeeLady.

Below is a list of pretty much everything I've written in the Fanfic world (some links may be defunct and I might have missed one or two works too):

At The Annex and Gossamer, under the name "GenieVB" you will find:

PhaHks, Focus, Foldback, Divinities (the books); Undone Series, The New Breed, Blut, The Twelvth Fold, Kick Ass, Bones, Green Eyed Monster, TheVisit, Si' An Ghealach,

No Return Policy & Exchange Rate, That Indescribable Something, One Link, Break-In Series, Hope, Just Enough, Kurhuku, Let Her Go, Muldermass, and a few poems here and there.

For Starsky & Hutch or Star Trek Stories, almost none exist online. Some used to be archived at Fanfiction. net under the name Jennypoo (or Gennypoo??), but were deleted for reasons unknown to me.

You may also locate one or two things under the name GVB, GenieVeeBee, AVB, J. Lyons or J.E. Lyons.

"Given sex, take your preference. An array of genitals are up for grabs, all colors, all sizes. Given love - caring, kindness, devotion - what has any of that to do with organs?"

From the "Organ-ic Carrot". By me. Unpublished.

Books: The Voynich Manuscript, I Never Promised You a Rosegarden (or anything by Joanne Greenberg), The Two Babylons, Poe, Doyle, Dickens, The Greats, Agatha Christie, Herriot, The Forcyte Saga, Krakauer, The Noonday Demon, Andrew Solomon, The Great Poets, The Great W. Shakespeare, The 66 Biblia, The Deep Hot Biosphere...
