Hey everyone, welcome to the Reader's Digest version of my autobiography (when I write the real one, I'll let ya all know). I'm an American young adult who owns nothing that would be of value to a fanfiction author (until such time as she locates the Magic Pink Sock©™ so if you happen to see it floating around drop me a line). I've just started attending a university with the intent of double majoring in Psychology and Creative Writing, and a plan to minor in Genetics. I have a super hyper active imagination and the idea bank for stories won't run dry till I'm about 149, so I'll be writing here for just about the rest of my life. That's right. I'll be a shriveled old bat writing whether you like it or not. I also have 3 cats. The oldest is Princess Angel Jigglypuff Mew-Mew McKitty, and she's pretty but for the most part just a boring old cat who sleeps all day. The next one is Togepi Hope (but we call her Tobi). She's named for Togepi of Pokémon and Tobias of Animorphs and she is the proverbial monster under the couch. She's really smart and plans the destruction of the world with the use of toothpaste and leisure suits. 0_o And last and most definitely not least we have Sir Dobby Nicolas Trouble Chiahuahuabug, Esquire. He's my baby and I love him to bits. He will be our king someday...

stuff I Beta/co write!!!!!

End of The World Howlerdrode asked me to co-write this story with him crossing over Legion of Super Heroes with the X-men Evolution characters as I use them in Back in Diapers. It's something of a half-sister story to Back in Diapers and I may be biased but I think its pretty cool.

Mutants in Black Scifisg1 asked me to beta this X-men/Men in Black Parody because he's a relative noob when it comes to writing and he trusts my input enough.

Destiny's Nightmares Zuzuari is my Bff and she had a great idea for a crossover between Avatar:The Last Airbender and W.I.T.C.H. but she's only just dipped her toes into the writing scene and isn't comfy without a beta yet.

Break the Chain Shirozora's hypothetical Avatar: The Last Airbender Book 3: Fire. I started beta-ing at chapter four and its a really cool story.

FAffQs (Frequently Asked fanfiction Questions) ska things I wish someone had told me when I was a newbie...

What is AU? Alternate/Author's Universe.

What is an AN? Author's Note, here the reader addresses the audience.Used for clarification, explanation, and conversation.If they're they're they are mean to be read.

What is a Disclaimer? The obnoxious part where you haveta say you don't own the original concept and all that jazz. Protects your butt from gettin sued.

What is an OC? Not Orange County in this instance. It means Original Character - a character that is not part of the canon, most likely created by the writer.
-- What is a Mary-Sue? The most hated creature this side of a fantasy galaxy. She is a gorgeous, smart, sexy, funny, omni-powerful, cute, popular, OC who is TOO perfect. She likely has a tragic past and there's probably some craptastic prophecy backing her up and proclaiming her to be practically the world's last hope-even if there already is one of those. Sadly she is a scene hog and she pushes the main characters (and coincedentally the plot) out of the way so that all attention is on her tragic past and her uber perfection. This character gets old really really really really fast. Like, by the time the audience learn's her name they already want to shoot her. Save everyone some time and either don't write about her at all (the preferable choice) or put her story on fictionpressdotnet as she has no place whatsover in any precreated universe. Unfortunately she is way easy to create so be careful. I learned this the hard way.
--- What is a Gary-Stu? Mary-Sue's slightly darker brother. He is often a smoker or emo or a runaway or all of the above.

What is OOC? Out of Character- basically a character acting in a way he/she would not act normally.

What is SI? Self-Insertion, basically the placement of one's self (or one's friend(s)) into the story. Often the goal is to unite a fan-girl(or fan-boy) with the object of their obsession.

What is Fluff? Happy emotional relationship scene(s). Not exclusive to romance (can be friendship or teammate fluff too)

What is Angst? Sad emotional scene(s)

What is a Cliche? A story line or plot device or topic which has been done a bizillion times.

What is a Song Fic? Other than not allowed on this site? It is a fic (usually a oneshot) inspired by and containing song lyrics.

What is a Oneshot? A short story which is usually completed in one portion.

What is a Drabble? A very short oneshot which is usually supposed to be 100 words or less...In other words, the greatest challenge out there for longwinded writers like me.

What is a Splurt? An even shorter oneshot; one sentence per word given. This is my term for it, they are a type of drabble.

What is a Sequal? the continuation of a completed story. Sometimes stands alone.

What is a Prequal? the story that comes before another takes place. Explains what happened before the base story line occured.

What is an OTP? One true pairing. If you ship, this is the pairing you support the most. Mine are Dramione, Haginny, Jonda, Lancitty, Rabias, Romy, Sukka, Taang, and Zutara

What is Canon? Other than a printer company, it's the stuff that actually exists in the media in question. Reality as part of the book/cartoon/show/comic/whatever.

What is Fanon? Fan created Canon. Anything widely accepted by a large group of fans as reality even if there is little to no Canon to support it.

What is a Fandom? The category you are a fan of; ie: Harry Potter, X-men, Pokémon, Avatar, etcetera

What is a Ship? Ship does not refer to big boats when seen in context of a fandom. It is the abbreviation of relationship. If you ship it means you support a certain relationship for two characters.

What are the Shipping Wars? Fandoms are seldom unanimous in shipping preferences. Often there are a few pairings that have the most support and the fans who take it most seriously engage in a sort of dominance battle. For some it's fun, but some others take it far too seriously. The three most extreme ship war fandoms I've seen are Harry Potter (with the biggest ship war deciding Hermione's love interest as Harry, Ron (ANVIL SIZED HINTS-J.K.R.), or Draco), Teen Titans (with the Robin Ship War (Robin/Raven or Robin/Starfire), and Avatar:The Last Airbender where practically every ship imaginable is on the table for argument but the main one is Zutara v. Kataang (Zuko/Katara v. Aang/Katara) (And it seems all the ships are connected in some way, most people who ship zutara also ship taang and most kataang fans ship maizu and so forth).

Where did your screenname come from? I've always had a thing for birds of prey. Red-tailed HAWKs were always my favorite (and a certain boy who could turn into one holds a place in my HEART as my first fan-girl obsession).

Do you take requests? Yeah I take requests in all my media. Just seems only my boyfriend and little sister actually most if not all of the requests I do. If ya wanna see me do something leave it in a PM.

How long have you been on the site? Hm well I've had the heartsyhawk account since April 20, '02, but before I actually had an account I was reading and reviewing under several different aliases. I think I started reading in '99. I've been writing fanfiction since the first grade (don't expect me to ever post any of my earlier work but my first fanfiction involved Simba from Lion King coming to live with me, and my second involved Alvin and the Chipmunks) and you can imagine my absolute delight when I found out I wasn't the only one who wrote stuff like that. This site was like a gift from the universe to me :)

Why does it take you so long to update? College is not compatible with the words "free time". Also, college doesn't like any technology I own. Sorry, I am trying...

What categories do/will you write in? Well I've already got X-men Evolution and Avatar: the Last Airbender. I plan to add Harry Potter, Animorphs, and Smallville to the list...someday.

Will you ever write anything that isn't fanfiction? Well, that's in the plans. But for now I'll stick with my first love XD

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

Ok confession time, I am severely guilty of hit-and-run in fanfiction. Doesn't matter the fandom, but I have a horrible nasty habit of reading a story and then going about my merry way. As a writer (AND an artist AND a fanvid maker) I can say it sucks to put so much effort and heart into something and have it go unrecognized. And yet every thing I don't review or comment that's exactly what I'm doing. I also know that even the quickest review brightens an artist's day (no matter what their chosen media) so my New Year's resolution is to review/comment everything I read or view. Hopefully this will break my habit. Whew I'm gonna be leaving a lot of reviews in 2007.
