Lee Quick is a musician and writer. She has a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and a Master's degree in Music Pedagogy. She has conducted and performed with many bands, chamber groups, and orchestras, including conducting the Grieg Piano Concerto (on five minutes' notice and 7 months pregnant) and the Tennessee Fiddle Orchestra. She has also been a bassoon player in a U.S. Army Band and a bass player on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.

The author is a self-confessed "experience junkie." Before settling in music, she had been previously employed in copywriting, computer sales, video production, advertising & magazine publishing (New York City), classical radio (New Orleans), a major talent agency (Los Angeles), and a sushi bar.
