Author has written 69 stories for Superman. 2/3/12: Oh God, not this shit again. So. This week. Not been a good one. Not gonna lie. We're going to end up blowing another deadline. And then I have to make it worse by having to take a week off. Yeah. A week. Anissa and I have discussed it and we're going to hold ATU [which is, again, half-finished because of RL eating up our time] until the following weekend. We're going to be posting in the Porn Battle so we have a chance to reset everything in our heads to their proper positions. It also gives us a week to do some epic planning and such for the things coming up [and there are HUGE things coming up. Things that we're actually scared of handling wrong, hence some of all of the delays on these two main fics lately, OTHER than RL] because we NEED it. Just bear with us a little longer. This is one of the many reasons RL makes me nuts. It interferes with my writing and that I WILL NOT STAND FOR! *epic!Lane Death Glare* There are some fics that I'll be hiding on another journal until they can be released officially, so avoid spoilers by not reading some of our PB fic until I post them here. My co-author on a certain future project made some requests and we're going to fill the ones we can. Just be warned that there are spoilers, however AU they may be and no matter how little of the actual canon is there. Just be forewarned. ;) But again, I'm so sorry for the delay and the fact that I've completely blown my rep as Queen of Deadlines. 1/21/12: Long story short, the FIL was discharged yesterday and neither of us has really had that wonderous thing called sleep since. None of his paperwork has been right, none of the prescriptions have been right, we have nurses that are supposed to be showing up that haven't been here, supplies that haven't been showing up... You name it, we're dealing with it. We'll be the rest of the day trying to get all of this worked out. And there needs to be sleep and food somewhere. Like it or not, Across the Universeis likely going up later tonight or at some point tomorrow. Again, no choice in this. It's coming along nicely and we have about a thousand words to put on it, but there just hasn't been time to touch it since. It just makes me completely nuts that I can't keep ANYTHING on-time, not even work lately. I'm sorry, guys, we're trying to keep to some sort of schedule. Please, just bear with us. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to find a small corner to hold up in and hide and forget about RL for a while. Somehow I just don't think that's going to happen. 1/05/12: Guess what's back in the works? Across the Universewill be back on its posting schedule as of Saturday. The next chapter is nearly finished. :D Now to get Love and Other Headaches back in gear and we'll be full-steam ahead! 12/21/11: Okay, it's taken about a month, but I do believe we have things back under control here at KLK Central. There will be a 12 Days of Clois Christmas story out by this weekend and we should be getting back to our regular schedule the first week of January. First up, the chapter of ATU that was half-finished. And then onward to Love and Other Headaches. 11/11/11: Annnnd I'm about to do something completely unprecedented. Something I REALLY didn't want to do. For the last week, I've been fighting what feels like a strain of the flu and it's pretty much kept me out of work and offline. Miserable from head to toe and just barely feeling like I'm existing. Well, I'm just now back at work and trying to get back to a normal routine, nevermind that I've been going to bed early and sleeping really late. If I'm lucky, I'll be back to 100% by the weekend. However, Anissa started falling prey to it this evening. And it's hitting her hard, where most colds and viruses don't really stick to her. The bad part? We've only gotten a little bit of ATU underway because she's been having to look after me this week and I've been no help whatsoever. We know where it's going and what needs to be done for it, but there's no way that we're going to catch up in time. NONE. So, we're forced to hold off for a second week in a row. No one worry. This isn't any kind of sign that we're stopping anything for good, just that we've both been in a really bad way and need the chance to rest and recoop before we dive back in. I don't expect that we'll miss another deadline and we plan to try to have the first chapter of Love and Other Headaches to you,then, as well, but it will most certainly be out by the end of the month. We'll be back just as soon as we can 10/02/11: I just got a text telling me that we're going to be receiving 700 pieces of freight nightly this week at the job. For those of you that don't work retail, that's a lot. Especially if you only have a four-man crew to work it and then backstock it at night and you're part of that crew. Don't fool yourselves that BB&B has a separate cleaning and stock crew. It'll all done by the employees you see working through the store. WE are the ones that do all of it. I tell you this because there's NO WAY that we're going to manage an Across the Universe chapter this week with me under the gun like this. We also have the opener to Love and Other Headaches to get finished and to beta and I don't know if we'll manage that either, even with it more than a third done. Start week on LaOH, BTW, is being stated as November 19. It would be sooner, but all of the RL stuff keeps mucking with us. But rest assured, the muses are wide-awake and talking. It's just the fact that I'm not home enough to keep the ball rolling as much as I'd like. So, yeah. No ATU this week, but it shall return next Saturday. LaOH is set to roll out on Saturday the 19th. 8/13/11: Anissa here. I've been going through some real-life stuff and haven't been able to find the muse for Across the Universe. It's not Lois' fault - she's gonna help me out with a big planning meeting tonight so we can plot out some things. Expect chapters the next two weekends to get us back on track. My apologies for the delay. 6/3/11: *big, huffy sigh* Okay, so we tried. We really, really tried. But thanks to the meds I'm on this week for the sprained knee, I'm going to have to announce yet ANOTHER damned delay on a deadline. Sessions was due out tomorrow, but we're about 500 words off where we need to be and this is an important chapter. The one you all were waiting for. And it's just not up to par and there's no way in hell it's going to be right by morning. I'm trying to remember the last time I felt this frustrated. I LOATHE blowing deadlines! 5/14/11: Due to a huge workload this week and packing AFTER work every night this week, I'm going to have to be The World's Biggest Cheesetoast and have to call YET ANOTHER delay on Sessions. After all the work we were doing, there just wasn't enough creativity left over for a chapter. We'll be getting back to work tomorrow night after the bed is delivered. I'M SO SORRY! Especially with SV ending this week. Forgive me? 3/26/11: As Sessions had to be delayed until Tuesday, we're also going to delay Across the Universe until next Saturday. After all the smoke cleared on Wednesday, we realized that we only had three pages on the chapter. And considering the subject, I figure you guys would appreciate it more if it were just a bit longer. Expect the spoiler as soon as I have enough to choose from. :D Thanks for understanding. 3/19/11: Guys, Sessions is going to be late. Like maybe two days late. We're taking my father-in-law [Anissa's dad] to the ER. He's having issues breathing. All prayers and good vibes happily taken. The chapter should go up Sunday or Monday. No sleeping late for me tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed. 2/21/11: With Across the Universe set to roll out next Saturday and put us officially back on our posting schedule, I thought it might be good food for thought to mention that we picked up: The Physics of Superheroes / Kakalios, James I have several more on hold to pick up when they get in. I LOVE being in full-scale research mode again. And after a planning meeting over dinner at Sweet Tomatoes, I think it's safe to say expect the unexpected for the next few months. I'm excited to finally get back to the daily grind. :D 1/25/11: All right, the decision has been made to do three large entries to the Porn Battle and a few smaller ones. The first up, which just went to beta, will be the second and last part to This Strange Effect, Tell Me. Let's just see how Lois manages to get them out of this one. The second is a birthday fic for Rizny and a cute little RedK turn on the typical Lois and Clark stuck in the hotel room together for assignment. Looks like this convention in Las Vegas will be more than the usual boring and tawdry affair they're expecting. Remember What You Told Me... is currently 4,300 words and growing. May have to link this one. And the third is a fic involving memories of childhood and that All-American past-time, skinny-dipping. And being the good boy that we know him to be, how much you wanna beat that he missed out on the fun and games of being a teenager. Good thing he has Lois around to make up for lost time. It Was A Hot Summer Night is currently 2,653 and is still being worked on. And then we have a few other prompts we have our eyes on, one of which is Richois in the very late part of the Snapshots era. Hope these guys will be worth the wait. We've been working on them every spare moment. :D And the upcoming series will begin next month, along with the oneshots. We just needed a little downtime. FUCK YEAH!!!! XD 11/05/10: Posting this from my mother-in-law's. Thanks to the stupidity of Clearwire and their stupid connectivity problems, it looks like I'll be off the 'net until at least Tuesday. So I'm going to have to go ahead with the delay on the chapter because I'm not being able to keep the connection for longer than five minutes at a time. We were running behind due to our laptop being glitchy while we were in the mountains last week, but this has been the final nail in the coffin. Expect the chapter next Saturday. These delays kill me and we've been having to do so many lately. Forgive me? grits teeth* This is driving me nuts. stalks off in a blind fury* 9/03/10: Yes, I'm having to do it again. The Huge EPIC fight scene + busy last week + sick this week = Still working on it. Yeah, I know I've been doing this a lot lately. Just hasn't been a good year for the schedule. Good news? We're making good headway and we'll be writing on nothing but this the weekend. We'll get caught up. As always, it'll give us more time to plot and plan and make it good enough for you guys. Expect a spoiler soon over at LJ. I just want to make sure that everything is absolutely perfect before it's posted. This is SO important to me. Enough so that I'm almost afraid of it. Here's hoping that it all gels the way I hope. *crosses fingers* 8/27/10: We should be posting the chapter next weekend, on time, but the cold and the unhappy has been eating away at me this week, so we switched to a moment I've been waiting to write up for a long time. :D Also, since I was asked recently: Nope, we won't be doing the interview in Snapshots, since we've done two other tellings of it in the Little Secrets 'verse (An Echo of Legend and Illogically Iconic) nor the events through Superman II (which we cover in LS Proper). We may cover a few of the other larger canon events in the films, but most of the rest are going to be in the in-between of shown moments in STM and the period of a couple of months I think went on in the first films (outtakes, if you will) and SII and SII into Little Secrets. But fleshing out this out to make you see the connections is the real goal. I hope we succeed with it. ;) 7/16/10: First and foremost, due to how crazy our schedule was on this trip, we're going to have to delay a chapter yet again. I know, I know, we've had to do this several times so far and I just did this to you last chapter, but it's going to be absolutely impossible for us to catch up in time. With all of the drive-time and timing-upsets, we got more planning than actual writing done. The rest of Heirs has been decided down until the final scenes and we plan to make it all as worthwhile as we possibly can. Expect to see it next weekend, at the latest. I feel bad, but this is necessary to assure you guys get the best chapter possible. Also, there will be a little oneshot coming up before the end of the weekend, methinks, so hopefully that makes up for some of it. And it's comedy, so... ;) 7/5/10: All right, all. The final ballot voting over at The Superman Movieverse Fanfiction Awards has gone live. The voting will run until July 17, which the results posted the next day. If you feel the urge to go over and give us a little love, it would be hugely appreciated, but no pressure. I love you guys regardless of vote and all that stuff. Expect a couple of projects coming up soon, as well as the quickly-arriving climax of Heirs. Also, do you guys hear a falling helicopter? ;) A new Snapshots is spawning bunnies. Maybe while we're on vacation next week. You never know what treasures North Carolina can bring us. Last time, it was In Another Lifetime. ;) 6/12/10: It's rolled around to summertime again, which brings forth The Superman Movieverse Fanfiction Awards, which Anissa and I are on staff for this year. Now if your chance to give a little love to those authors that have kept you amused, amazed, and enthralled for the last year. Nominations are now currently being taken and will continue through June 30. Voting begins July and runs through the 17th. Hope to see you there! 5/16/10: Just an update to warn you that I may not be able to post before work, seeing as how the second chapter is enormous, quite possibly the largest chapter we've ever written. And we were only able to get it to saavikam77 after midnight yesterday. It was worked on nearly all day Saturday. It's been planned since about September '07 and it still needed a lot of fine-tuning. It was the most difficult things I've ever even plotted. Those that were waiting for something huge to happen again need wait no longer: The fight for the House of El is in full-swing after this. But at what cost? saavikam77 , I love you for what you're about to edit here. I'm not sure I would trust this beta to anyone else. *snugs you tight* I'll have this baby up as soon as I possibly can. ETA: I don't think we're going to make it in time. If I don't get it out this morning, look for it after 9 tonight EST. 5/14/10: Okay, all my readers of Heirs, I have a deal for you. What would you say if I said that I was going to postpone the chapter until Sunday? But will also be giving you two chapters to make up for it? Sound like a deal? ;) Three more scenes to write and we're already at 8,600 words. Told you this one was going to be big. :D 4/07/10: It's official. We're going to have to hold the chapter until next weekend. That's the bad news. The good news is that it's already up around 3,500 words and we still have some serious stuff to add to this chapter. It's going to be huge. And pretty shocking, if we get to what I want to get to before it's over. Carnival of Rust is the most important chapter we've done so far in Heirs, I think, and I'm terrified to rush it and have it not be up to par. Forgive me? It also gives us a chance to think over a pivotal scene one more time. I've been alternately looking forward to and dreading that one for a long time now. It'll be a relief to just be done with it and have it down on paper. So. Next weekend? I'll likely be posting from Orlando, as we're going to see friends. And you know what vacations, even short ones, mean! ;) It'll be worth it. I hope. :D 2/27/10: The only reason it's not up right now is a combination of exhaustion, late nights at work, and the fact that we delayed in coming homw from a muse-food trip to Jekyll by a run-in with a cop on the island. saavikam77 didn't get it until about 6 AM due to this and we're just waiting until she can clear time on her schedule to beta the chappie for two creeps who don't know what a deadline is. We suck, but the last month as been hell for me. Not an excuse, just a statement of fact. That said, I should hope that the latest we'll post will be tomorrow morning. Regardless, beta-ed or unbeta-ed, it will be posted before the weekend is over. I'm hoping that now that the crazy season is over the posting schedule can become less erratic. I hate that we've had to keep you guys waiting a few times now. :( 2/06/10: After producing seven pieces of work last week for both the PB@dreamwidth and 12 Days of Clois @ LJ, we have had to admit defeat and will be posting this chapter scheduled for this weekend next Saturday. The work week has been unkind and we currently have only about 1,500 words; that, my dears, does not a chapter make. I'm embarrassed that we're blowing a deadline already, but it's necessary. Forgive me, all? We'll be back on track next week. 12/20/09: Due to massive insane retail-working frenzy, we completed the 12 Days of Clois @ LJ oneshot, At the Closing of the Year, before the chapter, mostly because I needed cute and fluffy this week to counteract the crazy that is my job at the moment. Heirs will be back next week just after Christmas and then it will be back to your regularly scheduled programming. Oh, yeah. I also have another oneshot, Wintersong, coming your way next weekend for the Daily Planet Forums' Fic-Grab. My prompt is 'miracle' and it's set between the Snapshots series and Little Secrets. ;) 11/16/09: Profile FINALLY Updated. The official Heirs posting schedule will be the first and third week of every month starting November 14. The next chapter will be available December 5. :D The good news? There will still be oneshot on some of those 'in-between' weeks, depending on what we have on our plate. We hated to do it, but we were killing our betas by degrees.
