Update 12-15-2011: Okay, so here's what's up. I think I've managed to work myself through the worst of it, and I'm feeling better for now. But this last episode has reminded me that things really are only going to keep on getting worse unless I can figure out a more permanent solution that doesn't involved being medicated. So, I'm putting myself through a writing rehab--I'm going to force myself to write every day, whether I want to or not. The down side to this for you guys is that, no, I will not be working on any of my current stories. The upside is that I'm doing a completely new project for the sole purpose of this rehab thing, and I'm not stopping until it's completely finished. And then I might finish up some chapters for my other stuff (I actually have half of the next chapters written for AT and ITBDLY, but things got interrupted, and well...yeah). So...when (not if! :D) I pull through this little bit of fuckery, you'll have a brand new, super awesome story, plus probably a couple PWP one-shots that have been sitting around FOREVER, plus (hopefully) the next chapter of ITBDLY, all at once.

Update 12-6-2011 HIATUS: Sorry, guys. I hate to do this, and I'm super-super-sorry, but I'm gonna have to go on a hiatus from writing. I'm too busy trying to prevent myself from committing suicide, and besides that, I couldn't write like this if I wanted to. So, to anyone who still actually follows me...I apologize. Hopefully I'll be back soon. It might be a while, because even if I can stop myself from suicide, I still have depression to deal with. But as I said, either this will work out, or it won't. If it doesn't, I'm really sorry. But for now, goodbye.

How's Tricks?: So...I'm currently experiencing a lot mental issues...I mean, I've always got mental issues to deal with, but for the past few months, they've been worse than usual. May hit me hard, and it took me a little while to recover, but it left me with a lot of things to think about which are sort of...stunting my desire and ability to write. I'm combating it with everything I've got, though, and hopefully I'll make a full return soon!

About Those Tricks: It's now October '11, and I think I'm finally getting back in the saddle. Things evened out, got really good, got pretty bad, went neutral again, got really bad for a moment, and now I think we're leveling out again. Point is, I'm turning back to writing as a method of calming things down again, because I've realized that the lack of it wasn't helping anything at all. It's a part of my system, and as hard as it will be, I will try my hardest to write again. Ganbatte!

Bad grammar: Okay, it's one thing if English isn't your first language, or if you have the occasional slip up here and there. But when the sentences look like, "he sliped me a paper i wasn't shur what it was but when i read it, i knew and said, 'your a cop?' and he was like 'yea,'" go ahead and get a quick lesson in proper grammar.

The worst is when people use online speak in stories. It's understandable if it's an in-story text message, or something like that, but when the basic telling of the plot includes things like, "He said, 'Ur mom isn't going 2 b there 2nite,'" it's time to return to the land of non-abbreviated words.

And one last thing: there's a difference between "their," "they're," and "there,"; there's a difference between "you're," and "your,"; there's a difference between "then," and "than,"; there's a difference between "to," "too," and "two,"; and there's a REALLY BIG DIFFERENCE between "defiantly," and "definitely!"

Plots that move too quickly: It's hard to find that balance between going too fast and too slow with a plot, but I hate when I'm reading the first chapter, and at the top of the page, they're worst enemies, and by the end of the page, they're making out. I understand if it's a one-shot, but even so, at least make it slightly believable. Especially for multi-chaptered fics, take the time to develop the plot.

A/Ns in the middle of the story: Author's notes are called author's notes for a reason. They're notes. Not dialogue, not descriptions, nothing that belongs in the story because if they did, they wouldn't be called author's notes, they'd be called the next paragraph. If something really needs to be explained that badly, footnote it and put the A/N at the end.

Humanity in General: I just can't stand people. I get peoplephobic from time to time. It's rather inconvenient.

Improper Charactization: (Jesus, I sound like a lawyer. xD) Even if the character is OOC, that doesn't necessarily mean they're drunk on liquid crack as well. I like to think that there are certain personality traits that each character has that are fundamental to their personality. When you get rid of those, you make the character that much more unbelievable, and in some cases, it hurts the story. Just...try to keep an eye on your characters.

Tools of the Trade: Mental instability and something to write with. A kickass soundtrack doesn't hurt, either.
