Why the hate, haters? Kairi is possibly one of the bravest characters in Kingdom Hearts because she went to save Sora despite an evil seeming guy waving fire and evil creatures in her face. She didn't HAVE to but she did - unlike most other characters who were sort of forced into being brave. I think it takes a bravery of a different, more noble sort to jump into the frying pan yourself. Besides you don't know enough about her personality to actually lay the burn. She says, what, three, four lines in the whole of the second game? Just because she could possibly be the vaguely canon girlfriend to Sora. But I'm pretty sure Squeenix made it really vague on purpose, after noticing the TORRENT of soriku fans surge onto the internet. Cue scene where Kairi actually makes them hold hands. WHY THE HATE? WHY? This is something, for some reason unbeknownst to me, I feel strongly about. I just don't understand the fire in fangirls' eyes when they write about Kairi being mauled, abused, raped, murdered, whatever, and then pass it off as a joke. If that had been any other character you'd just defiled it would have been for an emotional roller-coaster of emoness. But for some reason, in this ridiculous fandom, when it's Kairi it's laughable. I fear that letting these repressed desires to abuse her loosen - for no particular reason, mind, but "she's lame" - will spark an increase in homicides for years to come. Well, I don't really fear that. But I do think that you probably have problems if you enjoy reading about the mutilation of a perfectly reasonable character. /rant.
