Kate: Look I don’t know what else to do. I’ve asked you. I’ve put in a requisition. I’m trying to get my work done and your phone is ringing off the hook. You’re dry cleaner called. They can’t find your brown sweater. The wedding photographer said, and I quote, there is no way you’re getting your deposit back. And you should really consider switching doctors. No offense, but yours is a borderline idiot.

Lily: What are you talking about?

Kate: He shouldn’t leave personal messages on voice mail. Check your tape.

Lily: What is your problem? Just tell me what he said.

Kate: You’re not anemic. pause You’re pregnant.

Kate: shouting I can't believe this you let him steal my car.

Kate: Okay what happened in there?
Jordan: I slipped.
Kate: You were cowering and you looked terrified.
Jordan: No I’m fine. I’m wet.
Kate: Jordan? What is it.
Jordan: I think I’m having hallucinations.
Kate: For how long?
Jordan: A couple days.
Kate: Why didn’t you say anything?
Jordan: I was afraid. I don’t want anyone to know the surgery didn’t work.

Kate: You’re unbelievably stubborn. You know you have to tell Garret. If you don’t I will.

Cruz wakes up handcuffed to the hospital bed

Cruz comes into the meeting and guys start whisling at her

Cruz: I’ll get him back when I can.

Dr. Fields: Sergeant Cruz. Something came up on you blood test last night.
Cruz: I know.
Dr. Fields: Yeah, but this is…
Cruz: I know what the test showed.
Dr. Fields: This is advanced.
Cruz: Very.
Dr. Fields: Are you receiving any treatment?
Cruz: No.
Dr. Fields: Okay, look, some forms of--
Cruz: No, no, not this one, okay? Do I have any sort of privacy rights here?
Dr. Fields: Privacy?
Cruz: Yeah, you can’t tell anybody what’s on here, right?
Dr. Fields: Well, it’s confidential, but…
Cruz: Thanks.

Doctor: You realize…if you elect to forego treatment it’s a death sentence.
Cruz: Yes. It’s a death sentence either way.

Cruz: I’m not looking to extend my life if I’m gonna be too sick to enjoy it.

Marcel: I love that beautiful smile.
Cruz: Yeah? I developed it about the time that Deborah Dawkins told me that you gave Michael the gun to kill Maddox.
Marcel: I feel so sorry for that old lady. She’s so--
Cruz: She didn’t like the house as much as she thought she would, Marcel. You’re under arrest for conspiracy to commit murder.

Marcel: You’re making a big mistake.
Cruz: Really? And yet I can’t stop smiling.

Doctor: How much?
Cruz: What difference does it make how much, they’re bleeding.

Doctor: We need to start treatment tomorrow.
Cruz: I have court tomorrow.
Doctor: Well, cancel it. You’re running out of time.

Cruz: About that, um, pamphlet…
Santiago: You don’t have to say it.
Cruz: You don’t know what I was gonna say.
Santiago: "We’re not friends, so don’t bring it up" or "keep this between us" or "it’s none of your business."
Cruz: I’m that predictable, huh?
Santiago: You’re that consistent.
Cruz: Look, you got nothing to worry about, okay? I’m fine out there.
Santiago: I’m not worried about me.
Cruz: Well, thanks, but that’s--
Santiago: Look, Sarge…I get that you’re kind of a one-woman show. I get that. But don’t think you’re gonna face this alone out there. ‘Cause you won’t.
Cruz: I don’t know what I’m gonna do…But thanks.

Santiago: First time in a Botanica? What kind of Latina are you?

Santiago: There’s a patron saint for everything.
Cruz: What about, uh, Santa Claus, huh? Is he the patron saint of toys?

Cruz: Don’t tell me you’re one of those guys that has to light a candle every time something goes wrong.
Santiago: Not every time.
Cruz: Yeah, well that’s how my sister was…look how she ended up.

Santiago: Santeria’s an interesting religion.
Cruz: Religion? More like hocus-pocus.

Cruz: I don’t believe in this stuff.
Santiago: What do you believe in?
Cruz: Me.

Cruz: Maybe Jamie Castro has the Santa Claus candle.
Santiago: And you still got the damn jokes.

Jamie: Sergeant, don’t be afraid to ask for it.
Cruz: Hmm?
Jamie: Help.

Santiago: Look, Sarge, I don’t want to front or anything but th-th-this whole setup is creeping me out.
Cruz: Well, don’t get too creeped out, because we’re gonna sit here and we’re gonna wait.

Cruz: She looks so empty.
Santiago: What?
Cruz: Dead people. They always look like they’re missing something.
Santiago: They are. Their soul.

Cruz: Do you ever think of dying?
Santiago: No.
Cruz: Are you afraid?
Santiago: All I know for sure is I don’t want to. I’ll fight to stay alive. But if I needed some kind of operation or something, I’d take the risk.
Cruz: Well, what if the treatment was gonna make you sicker than you already were and then even then there was no guarantee that it was gonna really work?
Santiago: There’s no guarantee you’re going to live through a shift on the job. But you keep coming back.

Cruz: I went to tell you that we caught Ernesto and to see how you were feeling.
Jamie: That’s thoughtful…
Cruz: Goodnight.
Jamie: …but what is it that you really want?

Cruz: Being a cop you realize pretty early on that lighting a candle isn’t gonna make a junkie not rob and kill an old man or a little girl not be raped by her father.
Jamie: Lighting a candle is only supposed to ask the spirit for someone like you to come along and help.
Cruz: Spirits didn’t make me become a cop. I grew up in a neighborhood where I was constantly seeing women being victims and I didn’t want to be like that. I didn’t want to be a victim.
Jamie: Do you think any of these victims ever lit a candle, ever prayed for someone like you to come and save them? Everyone has to have something to believe in.
Cruz: I believe in me.

Jamie: Do you have family? Someone to come home to?
Cruz: No, but that’s because I work a lot.
Jamie: No. That’s why you work a lot.

Jamie: I don’t think you came back tonight to tell me Ernesto got arrested. I think you came back because you’re afraid.

Jamie: Santeria can’t fight Lukemia. That’s going to take doctors and medicine. But for what’s in here points to heart, well, we can help. And for what’s up there points to head, definitely. Can’t heal the body if the spirit’s broken.
Cruz: And you’re gonna help me?
Jamie: Come with me.

Cruz: I’m, uh…I’m gonna be taking some time off soon.
Santiago: You haven’t taken an extra day off in all the time that I’ve known you.
Cruz: Yeah, I’m uh…I’m gonna start treatment.
Santiago: Chemo?
Cruz: Yeah.
Santiago: That’s great, Sarge.
Cruz: Yeah.

Yokas: Bosco...
Cruz: I'll talk to him.
Yokas: You?
Cruz: You two aren't exactly friends, right?

Cruz: Hey! Your eyes all messed up?
Bosco: What?
Cruz: You have trouble seeing?
Bosco: Get away from me...
Cruz: No. If you're gonna do this with me I gotta know the truth.
Bosco: If I'm gonna do what with you?
Cruz: I might be able to find Marcel Hollis. He's gonna be heavily armed.
Bosco: Let's go.
Cruz: Can... you... see?
Bosco: Yeah.
Cruz: Come with me.

Cruz: I'm not that person, Bosco.
Bosco: What?
Cruz: A talk-first person. It's weakness. No one respects weakness. Even tried religion. Can you believe that? Me, lighting candles and chanting. Crazy.
Bosco: Not really. Can't

Cruz: Not expecting one person.
Bosco: One?
Cruz: Yeah. You got a cell phone?
Bosco: Yeah...?
Cruz: What I want you to do is...is watch for the right time and then call for backup.

Bosco: How am I gonna know when you're ready?
Cruz: You'll know.

Bosco: Are you sure?
Cruz: There's no one I'd rather have backing me up.

Cruz: Marcel...Hasn't there been enough blood spilled on the streets?
Marcel: I decide when it's been enough!
Cruz: That's it? That's your final answer?
Marcel: You disappoint me. Just when I thought we was reaching a level of understanding.
Cruz: I can live with your disappointment.
Cruz pulls the pins on the grenades
Marcel: What is this?
Cruz: The terms you're dictating. Goodbye, Marcel.
