I'm in two different choirs at the moment too... that will all change at the ned of the year when they force me kicking and screaming to leave the concert band and the secondary choir... Castle and Beckett all the way. :D Other: You Know You're A Percussion Bandgeek when... Random stuffs: Fun from concert band Mr Talbot lines: “You can say with integrity, ‘you’re an idiot.’” (After a chicken joke.) “That joke was fowl.” “If you hadn’t picked that, join the double digit IQ’s at the back.” - this was about the cycle of fifths, doing it in 6/8 + 2/4, like Gypsy Dance. “I’d rather be cut up and fed to myself in diced pieced than listen to that band.” - telling us to avoid being 'that band' “You guys are going ‘COME HERE! COME HERE!’ For some reason the bird’s going ‘AHHHH!!’” - as if we were trying to coax a baby bird from somewhere. “Very difficult to sight read if you’re not looking at the music.” (About the noise.) “It was a very sick dog.” (Followed by flatulent noises.) “It should never be a surprise that I pick up a baton and start rehearsing… in rehearsal.” “You ugly, ugly players!” “Release your inner… ‘Harris’ ‘Hippo’ … Slipknot.” - trying to get Harris to play louder. 'Harris' and 'Hippo' were suggestions from other band members. ‘It’s dark.’ “That’s what happens when the sun goes down.” (After a panda joke.) "That's more than I can bear." "When I was in Vietnam, I got a bit of dodgy belly. That sounded a bit like what dodgy belly did to my digestive system." "Cascades like two dead ferrets beheaded by a cheesegrater." "Nail this and you'll blow their pants off." (Everyone laughs.) "I may need to think that over. Blow their socks off." "Molto poofissimo." "Vague-issimo." "Don't play 160 or you will be disemboweled with a spoon." (To us, the percussionists.) "Use the one brain between you. There's 3 of you. The 3/4 of a brain..." "Anyone who comes in early needs to be bashed senseless with a large... trout." "It's the John Septimus Roe Drag. And by that I don't mean a bunch of men in high heels. That's a more disturbing John Septimus Roe Drag." And to top it all off... According to Sutherland, Clouds That Sail In Heaven is now called Clouds That Doo Dah In The Whatsie.
