Author has written 12 stories for Grey's Anatomy, Twilight, and Vampire Academy. The girl formerly known as LaLaLovely47. Also, sadly, it's probably obvious I'm on a sort of hiatus. College and work is currently consuming my life, and I barely even have time to breathe anymore! Hopefully over the summer I'll be back in the saddle...maybe churning out some non-Twilight fics? Hopefully! Bonjour! Hola! Ciao! Privet! Bom dia! My name's Rachel, I drink Arizona (any variety) like it's my job, and I am seriously double jointed. Fun fact? As of October 15, 2009, I have 91 stories and a dozen poems written...that's not counting the 20-30 stories that remain on the drawing board (i.e. various post-it notes, legal pads, empty envelopes, and scraps of paper). So I might have a small writing addiction... I'm also a die-hard Buffalo Sabres fan, a terminal cynic, a procrastinator, and a bullshitter. I'm charming and articulate, but when I'm charming and articulate, I'm probably being fake. I aced my interviews with Dartmouth and Duke, but suffer a lot of word vomit on a day-to-day basis. I agonize over things. I'm always stressed. I'm generally classy. I'm always either ahead or behind on the trends, but never right on. I want to be a surgeon and go into publishing. I don't want to say I want to be writer, because 90 percent of girls on fanfiction or fictionpress say they want to be writers, and now it's basically the equivalent of a three-year old saying she wants to be a princess. I passionately hate Stephenie Meyer. Also? Alexandra Burke, the winner of The X Factor? She can die. Slowly and painfully. I refuse to Twitter, Tweet, follow people on Twitter, or any variation thereof. I belong to a group on Facebook called, "Lil Wayne is NOT the Greatest Rapper Alive." I'm also brutally honest nowadays - if I leave you a review and you mistake it for a flame, I promise you it's not (see below). I'm just being truthful; I don't say anything false just to hurt your feelings. I like tea. Coffee gives me the shakes. I cook and eat anything and everything (except olives). I'm a little bit of a fail at baking (though I finally figured out it was my mother's miscalibrated oven; I can now whip up a mean fat-free coffee cake anytime I please). I love thunderstorms and snow and cold. I want it to be fall year round, or Buffalo summers from the 90's. Speaking of Buffalo...it's really the greatest city on Earth. It's a win. My all-time favorite ff author is my dear, lovely, wonderful friend Chedea, whom I adore to the ends of the earth. She's written some of the most beautiful pieces I've ever read, published or unpublished or books or ff or otherwise, and she's just an absolute genius. If you haven't read her fics, your life is wholly incomplete. But don't try and be all, "I'm her number 1 fan!" Because that's me. And I'll take you down. Srsly. Upcoming fics (for the Twilight universe): My Manic and I, Gray or Green, Such is the Life of the Gods, Lust A Prima Vista, Sweden and Peru, and Something of an End (sequel to Kingdom Come), all multi-chapters. Four to five as-of-yet untitled stories, all currently multi-chapters. One epic-long one-shot, currently titled Coming Home. Another small one-shot that has been written for several months but I have not the balls to post it, and one very warped Emmett/Bella. Dated: 17 Feb 2009 (i.e. dibs on all of these titles). For Kingdom Come, the list of titles/corresponding songs: Story/Preface: Kingdom Come, by Coldplay. For Better Than Love: Rose's Wedding Dress: http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m167/LaLaLovely23/dressb.jpg Notes: I seriously love Photoshop, and have been getting a lot better at it lately. PM/email me if you would like to see my work, discuss Photoshop things, have tips/suggestions, or anything at all. I adore meeting new people and especially adore learning new things that I could use for graphic design. :) http://rachelosaurus.deviantart.com/ A Pet Peeve, if you will: I understand if people take offense to flames, because flames (as I categorize them) are vulgar and unnecessarily rude, as in, "This is such a piece of s--t," etc. etc. But to take offense to honest, unbiased criticism is just plain obnoxious. If you don't like somebody telling you that what you've written is low quality or needs some serious work or is unrealistic or WHATVER IT IS THAT IS WRONG WITH IT, then quite frankly, don't post it. Don't reply with, "If you don't like it, don't read it," because that is the most ridiculous piece of crap I've ever heard. Unfortunately, we've already read it and now need to express our opinions on it. When you post something in a public forum that is created for the explicit purpose of people reviewing your writing, not everybody is going to like it, and many who don't have legitimate reasons for doing so. Get over it. If you're not a good writer or you've made a mistake, someone is going to call you out on it, and they rightfully should. And that's that. (/rant) My favorite music: (All time favorites) - Adele, The Hush Sound, and Jeff Buckley. (Other favorites) - Classical music, especially Chopin, Vaughan Williams, Debussy, and Erik Satie (fuck Stephenie Meyer for ruining one of my favorite composers). Air Traffic, Laura Marling, My Brightest Diamond, Ron Pope, Kings of Leon, Wallis Bird, The Black Keys, any band involving Andrew McMahon, Death Cab, Cold War Kids, Matt Pond PA, The Kooks, The Rocket Summer, Landon Pigg, Corinne Bailey Rae, Damien Rice, David Gray, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Regina Spektor, The Goo Goo Dolls (Buffalo natives, can't help it), Jack Johnson, Michael Buble, The Spill Canvas, Jon McLaughlin, Gatsby's American Dream, Eisley, Mark Ronson, Matt Costa, Coldplay, Norah Jones, jazz music in general. Aqualung, Vampire Weekend, As Tall As Lions, Ben Folds/Five, Psapp. Old-school hip hop, TI, Lupe Fiasco, and my pre-fame favorites: The Fray, John Mayer, Snow Patrol, Sara Bareilles, and Paramore. I found this really funny, and maybe you will, too: "Both Rowling and Meyer, they're speaking directly to young people...the real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good." - Stephen King http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4498367/1/Innocence_Or_Lack_Thereof: Undoubtedly, beyond words, the most amazing story I have ever read, written by my dear, dear friend. Au revoir! Arrivederci! Adios! Ciao! Herete! Auf wiedersehen! Uvidimsia! Shalom! | |||||||||||
