Author has written 24 stories for Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Highlander, Harry Potter, Superman, Pretender, Labyrinth, Dark Angel, Tomb Raider, Stargate: SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis, and NCIS. A while back black_leather asked for my permission to translate into Russian and then post one of my stories: "Halloween Story by Methos". I, of course, said, "yes" and thought "how incredibly cool is that?". It is now translated and posted at http://highlander.kachkanar.ru/library/b_halloween.htm so go check it out and "ooh" and "ah". Because, really, how incredibly cool is that? I wish I knew Russian. An additional coolness: I have just had "Halloween Story by Methos" translated a second time, this time into Dutch by the lovely Franavu and available at http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4370412/1/ . For those of you who don't know Russian or Dutch, it's also sort of fun to see how the online translators deal with translating back into English. It's impressive to see what they translate back pretty much perfectly and it's really funny to see what they completely mangle. (Let's hear it for online translators that take "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak" and turn it into "The Vodka is good but the meat is rotten." :-) Anyway, in real life I read, I work, I sleep, I sew, I learn martial arts, and I do various other things as they occcur to me. | |||||||||||
