The Obligatory News Update!

Monday, June 28th, 2010: I've noticed a slight uptick in traffic and quite a few messages from people pleading with me to update. I know it's been quite a while, but I have not abandoned the fandom. I am just VERY busy with life and all writing, fanfiction or not, has taken a back seat to my final year of my second degree, work, family, and such. I write when I can and when my muse cooperates. While the newest chapters of part three of the Shinri/Soutou series are written, I keep going back to change them as things in the manga change. I can be a slave to canon sometimes, and I don't want to completely fubar a character if I can help it. Your support is welcome, and I will be back someday, I just can't be sure exactly when.

Some Stuff I Think You Should Know

Emi here. Thanks for stopping by. I'm a longtime reader of Fanfiction, and often review, but find myself now yearning to join the ranks of the published. I have several ideas bouncing around in my loony head, so bare with me as they ooze out into digital medium. I'm currently a student, and working, but I hope to keep updating at least once a month. Though not a writer by trade or training, I fancy myself a decent storyteller if only because I spend too much time reading. I'm an artist by training, and hopefully soon by trade, as can be witnessed by my DeviantArt account.

My primary fandom, and the subject of my current story, is Naruto, though my tastes are broad and flexible. I tend to learn about good stories via word of mouth, and am willing to give any subject, pairing, crossover, crack fic a chance if well written. I am a bit of a stickler for canon, though I understand that if I want a story to follow the original exactly, I should go read the manga.

I fancy myself fairly proficient in Japanese, though my first language is English. Since most readers on this site are also English speakers, I promise I won't confound you with inappropriately scattered Japanese phrases. I will restrain myself, and maintain a level of Japanese language knowledge that the average or casual Anime fan will understand. No need to impress anyone, since it will more likely just make my stories less readable.

I enjoy music, reading, movies, and all of the other things a healthy and productive member of society is supposed to enjoy. Just don't tell anyone.

Grey Brain Matter

Shinri will become at least a Trilogy. Possibly more if my muse monkey cooperates. Part Two is called 争闘 Soutou "Struggle". Part Three will be called... dunno yet. The last part will be called 希望 Kibou "Hope".

Candlelight - It was a status symbol for rich Shinobi clans to pay for their daughters to attend Kunoichi school and become the wives of powerful Shinobi. But Sakura didn’t care for finding a husband, or being obedient. Sakura wanted to become a Shinobi herself, a seemingly impossible task for any woman.

AU: Narutoverse but the culture more closely resembles that of feudal Japan. More emphasis on nobility, money and tradition, no female Shinobi, etc.

Porcelain - Konoha is safe and prospering, but at the cost of the lives of everyone Sakura had ever held dear. Broken and empty, Sakura wastes her days fantasizing about what she would have done differently, until Utatane Koharu, on her death bed, out of guilt gives Sakura the opportunity to do just that.
