Author has written 17 stories for Harry Potter, Phantom of the Opera, Wizard of Oz, House, M.D., Van Helsing, Pirates of the Caribbean, Scrubs, Batman, Batman Begins/Dark Knight, and Misc. Plays/Musicals. Hi. This profile needs an update, even though I haven't written anything new in a while. I've decided to say that some people on this site take the writing of FAN FICTION too seriously. It's really starting to tick me off. I realize that for years, I used to be one of them. Now, I say fan fiction is practice for people who want to become writers or just want to get some sort of feeling out onto the page. Whatever. Go for it. You're not going to publish fan fiction unless you're Gregory Maguire (author of Wicked, Son of a Witch, etc), so you might as well consider it practice for that novel idea you have. Still, all I ask of people is respect the language that you speak & write. I still don't approve of stories typed "lIkE tHiS" or "tehn raHry ottper laghude.” Mary Sues, go ahead, write them 'til your heart bleeds sticky sweet goo. Again, this still hasn't changed: If you send me flames I will not be all nice and polite about it. If you think my work is crap, give me a reason. Tell me what I can do to improve, but do not say to me, "You are stupid. Don't you know the differences between there, their, and they're?" Honestly, like you've never made a typo in your life. You have been warned: Flames are not accepted. But constructive criticism will be accepted, for example: "Just wanted to point out that you used the wrong "there" it should be "their"." and that's fine. I'll just blush and curse to myself about how I should have caught the mistake and change it without getting all mad and pissed off that you pointed out a simple mistake to me. See, it pays to be nice and polite. 98 percent of teenagers do or has tried smoking pot. If you're one of the 2 percent who hasn't, copy & paste this in your profile. My Stories 8/23/10: My "Butterfly in A Bell Jar" story is apparently being added to a bunch of C2 groups. Unfortunately, they all think it's not worthy of the Batman realm of FAN FICTION. It's not even finished yet and they think they know how my story is going to turn out. Funny thing is, they're wrong on all counts. I have one more thing to say before I'm completely done. Seeing that I can't remember to write disclaimers for stories before I post them: I, Miss Dusk, do not own any of the characters that I write about except Prof. Barbara Ann Humnick of "Trapped In Handcuffs", a spider, a stray Mary Sue, Annabell Valence of "Butterfly in a Bell Jar," and plot ideas, that's it. | |||||||
