ATTENTION.

I have placed the words "ON HOLD" in some of the summaries of my stories. Trust me, I hate...hate HATE to do that. But, I have to right now. Because I have made the mistake of biting off more than I can chew. So, I am for now going to focus on some stories I am doing right now, until they are finished, or until I get inspiration for one that is on hold.

If you like a story that is "ON HOLD", calm down and DO NOT PANIC. It does NOT mean I am never writing it again. It just means that I cannot write it now. Don't you worry, I will do my best to finish them. Even if not right now. I hate, hate to keep you all waiting, but I can only do so much. And I do not want to give you all half-assed updates just for the sake of moving things along. You deserve far better than that, dear readers. Far better.

So, until I get myself on track, I hope you can all understand and be patient. Some stories might have slow updates, or I may put them on hold. My inspiration and motivation will be the judges.

I love Hey Arnold!, and I have been writing a lot for that series now. :) I have been into it for a little over a year now, and it's awesome. I have (and will) written for other series, and that may vary as I do not have a set goal for the future. In the HA! world, I have made some new friends who I very much cherish and adore. :D

I love to write, plain and simple. It's my dream to do in life.

Admittedly, sometimes I do take a while to update things. Sometimes I get lazy, or just plain distracted by other things and other things in life. I'm not a busy person, but yeah, I can get sidetracked and take a while. But I definitely will do my best with things, of course. Thank you for understanding. :)

Movies: Homeward Bound (and the sequel), The Nightmare Before Christmas, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Signs, WALL-E, The Jungle Book, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Pocahontas, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid...too many to name! A lot of Disney movies too, and that includes Pixar. 83

TV: Hey Arnold! (Doi!), Corner Gas, The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show, The Road Runner Show, Holmes on Homes, Property Virgins, Home To Stay, Tough As Nails, Carter Can, House Hunters (though sometimes varies)... I don't watch very much TV these days. XD

Books: I shall read any Stephen King book. He is my favourite author, and has been a huge source of inspiration to me. OwO Dean Koontz is also up there. After that it varies and I'm working to diversify myself in the literature world.

Games: Mario, Zelda...as my name says, I love Nintendo. And I love the Silent Hill games. OwO

Anime: Naruto! BELIEVE IT! This series will always have a special place in my heart.

So, at times, the pairings will vary for me, aside from AxH and GxP. Those two pairs will ALWAYS be together in my works. ;) I'm not the one to come to at all for Arnold, Helga, Gerald or Phoebe ending up paired with others. No sir. That's just how I roll and I'm afraid that's my decision, not yours. :) Arnold will always be with Helga. Gerald will always be with Phoebe. I will not do otherwise for any reason.

I also do not write angst or dark fics. I am the Queen of Fluff...known by my friends. XD I will have dramatic times here and there, yes, but I refuse to delve into drugs, rape, hate, abuse...and all that stuff. Hey Arnold! is not meant to be dark. I don't care what anyone says. I write fluffy, sweet but still realistic romance. I like happy endings.

This can go for fans of any fandom.

In a lot of fandoms, there usually are the canonical, or widely accepted pairings/shippings. Featuring main characters or supporting characters, protagonists or antagonists. These pairs have a wide range of fans, and therefore, usually garner a type of fanwork for it.

There are fans who genuinely enjoy the pairing, and make fanworks for it when they are inspired, as a way to express that enjoyment and present the pairing with a different perspective than they are shown in the respective published fictional work. I'm not talking about the kind of people who would contribute to the pairing just to get popular and/or fit in with the crowd, seeing it as the only way to be a true fan.

This is not true. We all have pairings, canon or fanon, that we like or don't like. You don't have to like or hate a certain pairing to be a "true fan" of the series. That's not how it works, and you shouldn't let others tell you otherwise.

There are no "true fans". There are no requirements to be a fan. We all love and dislike things about series we watch/read/play. Does that make us any lesser fans? Absolutely not.

Respecting what the creator has done or said, whether or not you agree with it, is really the only real key you have to keep in mind.

Now, that being said, I want to address a touchy subject among pretty much every fandom out there.

Sometimes, there seems to be a problem with there being "too much" of a certain pairing. That happens all the time. There are a lot of fans of the pairing, and so a lot of fanwork is made for it. Sometimes, fans of this pairing can be criticized, even though not directly, for not trying diversity. This happens when a fan pairs these two characters together and never pairs them with anyone else. Yes, they focus on other pairings, but that's not the point.

The point, is that sometimes, fans stand by their OTP's and prefer not to "branch out" or "broadening their horizons", there are a number of reasons for that. More often than not, it's partly due to inspiration. Their muse and inspiration is what guides them. That's a part of it. Just because it's good to be diverse, does not mean they would branch out for the sake of it and trying to "be different", that just goes against the creativity of their craft. Trying something new is always a good thing. But you have to be READY for it, be prepared, be INSPIRED for it. You can't just go in there and do something different right on the spot without thinking.

That being said, I want to address something about myself regarding this.

I'm perfectly aware that I, have OTPs in which I pair ONLY with each other. Such as Arnold and Helga from Hey Arnold!, or Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

I don't do it to be rebellious. I don't do it to make a statement. I don't do it to defy the antis of the pair. I don't do it because I want to fit in with the crowd. I don't do it because it's canon. I don't do it because I think it will make me a "true fan". I don't do it for those reasons.

That's just what I do.

Am I really wrong for not "branching out"? Am I really that much of a lesser person for NOT pairing them with anyone else?

Well, if I am, I'm sorry.

No wait, I'm not sorry.

It's not about comfort zones or sticking to what I know. It's preference. That's just what I prefer.

I'm going to stay true to myself and not fall into doing things just for the sake of it. Not unless I genuinely want to.
