Author has written 5 stories for Sherlock Holmes.

Hello, everybody!

Soooooo...

For me, Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is one of the most fascinating fictional characters in literature. THOUGH I feel inclined to STATE CLEARLY that I absolutely DISAPPROVE of his abuse of "artificial stimulants". Or to put it this way: SHERLOCK? YES!! DRUGS? NOOOOO!!

Sherlock Holmes has been accompanying myself since my childhood, I do not even know when it started. Of course, in those days, I did not know much about his complex "darker sides", this is something I got acquainted with later. Thus, my way of being "sherlockian" is nowadays not a question of idolisation but rather some kind of fascination, mixed with a little reasonable scepticism.

Anyway, the whole matter is important enough for me to start writing about it. So, if you want to accompany me (as readers or as fellow and maybe corresponding sherlockians)... feel free to comment!

Oh, and what kind of stories do I write? Well, I am a rather firm believer in sticking to the canon. I might be enhancing the issues a bit, but I will seldom contradict them. (Though, I did try a bit of satire once, but until now I have not dared to post it here, my Sherlock being a bit nutty in that one and additionally even meeting a certain Mr. Huggins...:-)

Speaking of "Mr. Huggins", I am a fervent admirer of Jeremy Brett and his embodiment of Sherlock Holmes in the Granada series (the fellow youtubers among you might already know that), I might sometimes refer to these series as some kind of alternative canon. That's why I call myself a "brettish" Sherlockian.

Regarding Jeremy, I have even set sail to go a step further, which means I have startet to work on a new biography about him (you can find more on that issue on my blog as mentioned below). First, I only loved his portrait of the Great Holmes (and I still do). But the more I learned about him, the more the man behind the actor became of interest to me. So, I'm on a long journey now - oh, and will always be glad on comments and other input regarding this task! But, of course, this is not part of fanfiction and therefore a bit off-topic.

Back to Holmes and Watson:

What I find most fascinating in the stories is not neccessarily the crime plot, but rather the strong relationship between those two characters. I believe that love may have many faces, friendship being just one among them. So, I am sure that there is SOME KIND of love between them, and that is what I usually celebrate in my stories... so prepare for a little fluff now and then ;-) You might also find the one or other moment here when you MIGHT want to read the stories with your slash goggles on... but you don't have to at all.

I am also interested in the Holmes/Adler combination and will elaborate a little on that in "A Circle Closes". But rest easy, I will not go so far as to make them fall in love and act on it...

Other things I write include songs and a "literature" website (www.susas-lounge.de) with a newsletter, which is mainly in German. I would be especially gratified, though, if an occasional reader of my stories would sign my guestbook there: http://www.susas-lounge.de/pageID_4715014.html

I do also have a blog, http://susaslounge.wordpress.com/, where I have startet to write in English, too, especially for those topics that are Sherlock Holmes- and Jeremy Brett-related. Among other things there is also the space for articles regarding the progress of my Jeremy Brett biography. Regarding that I will need every encouragement I can possibly get, so please share your thoughts and ideas (especially the more favourable ones lol).

My youtube account (http://de.youtube.com/user/Nunewesen) displays mainly my Holmes/Brett-tribute videos, with an occasional contemplation on bipolar disorder issues.

Ahem... did I mention that one of my faults is to get over-communicative when getting excited? No? Well, you'll see for yourselves...

Best regards!

Susa
