Hello! Welcome!

The name's Kristen, although really I respond to anything not offensive and/or crude. I'm 20, and though I'm a quieter fan than most (I've tamed over the years), I still have a fierce little love in my heart for my old-school fandoms. I take on projects much bigger than myself - my eyes and dreams are bigger than my stomach (or my patience and abilities, it would seem sometimes!).

Currently I am serving active duty as a corpsman in the Navy; I'm stationed in Okinawa Japan, which is a lot more humid than I dreamed as a fourteen year old hoping desperately to get to Japan someday. Definitely didn't think I'd get here through the military! Regardless I love my job; it's quite rewarding.

Way off in the future, I'm gonna be that cool music teacher you and/or your kids fawn over and moonlight as a nurse (or something like that). It's like being a superhero, with a mild-mannered alterego and everything!

I still haven't decided which job is the "superhero" job and which is the "alterego". I'm open to suggestions.

Phoenix Ashes isn't dead. I will finish it. I'm just kindasorta slow. Really slow. Real Life has a tendency to get in the way...

Hi again! I just celebrated my one year anniversary in the military - time flies when you're learning to fix people! I promise that I haven't forgotten fanfiction; in my defense, I've moved four times in the last six months, one of which was a transcontinental move, and this is the first time I've been someplace for longer than a couple months. Add to that intensive training (not only at training commands but now at my hospital) and you have a very tired Otaku who usually just sleeps and works. But! I promise a new chapter. Someday soon.

STORIES

Phoenix Ashes: Chapter 5 is the one I'm working on. The others are likely to be edited off and on as I see fit but none of the edits are likely to be anything bigger than me changing a sentence or fixing the rare and occasional typo I miss. I never stop editing, so mentioning it when it happens would get really old really fast.

The Original Phoenix Ashes: Discontinued, years ago. Seriously, why would you read that anyway? It's crap. Really badly written crap. Phoenix Ashes is the same thing only about five times better. As soon as I'm beyond where I stopped in this story, I'm going to delete it.

In mind for the future...I really want to attempt a Rurouni Kenshin 'fic -- I've wanted to for years but I don't quite feel confident enough in my knowledge of canon to do it. And the Harry Potter fanfic bug has finally reached me, although I'd probably use a different account for that. One day I'll get back to Bad-Luck Charm, my original story.
