Author has written 3 stories for Big O, Cowboy Bebop, and Naruto. (6/15/09): So, "What Is and What Should Never Be" is on indefinite hiatus. I know I said that I really wanted to continue this one no matter what, but after about 10 months of college, life, and a change of interest in fandoms, I simply can't see myself continuing what I see to be inferior work on my part. I feel bad that I've put something out that I can't finish, since I've done it before and I tend to regret it quite a lot, which is definitely the case here. I am truly sorry to those who were interested in it. I really hope to come up with something better in the future, hopefully something I can keep interest in long enough that I will be able to finish before I post anything. It's unfortunate, because that's how it started with "What Is and What Should Never Be," but I got too caught up in supplying the fanservice. I can't believe I did it again. Guh. Hopefully next time I will know better. Thoughts on future fics: Star Trek: either the 2009 movie or the original series, I have yet to decide. Will definitely be Spock/Kirk slash, possible including McCoy in some sort of weird (though probably "fascinating") triangle... hmmmm... Probably romance, of course. Ghost Hunt: not sure what I could do with this, considering all I've got under my belt is the anime, and apparently the manga contains a lot more info about the main characters of which I have only seen hints at in other fics. We shall see. Or, I might not do anything with this because the female lead character pisses the hell out of me in her anime girlyness (helplessness is NOT ATTRACTIVE AT ALL, contrary to popular belief by Japanese schoolgirls). But, I do like ghost stories, and because of that this anime is a favorite. Tail of the Moon: I don't usually like het pairings, but I find Hanzo/Usagi to be really, really cute for some reason. I mean yeah, Usagi is yet again the helpless female in a lot of cases (becoming a kickass ninja in her own right at one point and then sadly somehow just FORGETTING THAT almost immediately afterwards GRRRR), but she is at the very least smart in her craft. I mean, that's got to go for something, right? Probably either romance or general character exploration. Inuyasha: for some reason the helplessness of females in anime makes me very angry lately. Even if they are supposedly kickass and completely capable of doing something helpful, when it comes right down to it, they flake out. Kagome, I'm looking at you. Yeah, I know archery and I can freaking obliterate things with my arrows, but oh no, I can't fight off all those demons all by myself, nooooo! Especially not when Inuyasha is there to bail me out every single freaking time! (DEEP BREATH)... anyway. Considering my continuing hatred for the kickass and yet randomly confusingly helpless females in manga, especially Kagome, I can see myself carrying this one out with little trouble. Parody and/or satire. "Anytime something is written against me, I not only share the sentiment but I feel I could do the job far better myself. Perhaps I should advise would-be enemies to send me their grievances beforehand, with full assurances they will receive my every aid and support. I have even secretly longed to write, under a pen name, a merciless tirade against myself." -Jorge Luis Borges "How can I believe in God when just last week I got my tongue caught in the roller of an electric typewriter?" - Woody Allen "Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water. And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now you tell me what you know." - Groucho Marx | |||||||||||
