8/8/2010 I've put up my notes for chapters 1 and 2 of "Our World".

Our World

This is a kind of intro into a pokémon fanfiction I'm planning on writing. The idea for it came from wanting to re-hone my writing skills after about a year of neglect by actually writing things in a story format. In addition to this, Our World also serves a second purpose: to help me 'discover' the world that I will be writing my story in. As my perception of this world tends to change during the wriring process, it is possible that by the time I get into my story, I might have changed my mind about one or another facet of the world, thereby making what I wrote before contradictory. For now, though, please let me know what you think of it!

Chapter 1: The Indigo Conference

I decided to essentialy make Kanto and Johto one region (Tohjo) because the story I'm planning is based on the Elite Four and these two regions 'share' an Elite. I also made them battle enthusiasts to give the regions some depth/individual characteristics. I have some history stories of how Kanto and Johto have always been more war-like and trigger-happy than the other regions and that has translated into their current battle enthusiasm. This history will probably be addressed in a later chapter.

Chapter 2: Hoenn

First off, don't expect to see any more of a Contest than this. In fact, don't expect to see Contests a whole lot in general - they're not something I enjoy/know how to write.

I chose Wallace's last name randomly from a list of French last names. I chose French because his pokemon all have french names (in the manga), so I decided to give him some french heritage.

Steven being the adopted son of Mr. Stone is something I created for a story I had planned. I've abandoned the story, but kept the idea.
