Some Current Objects of Obsession: Newest Current Objects of Obsession: Ocean Eyes (music by Owl City): Owl City consists of one Adam Young, who apparently suffers from insomnia deep into the nights and uses the extra awake time to make music. 'Ocean Eyes' is his second full-length album, and his songs do anything BUT put you to sleep. His style can be described as electronica and synth-pop, and when combined with his quirky lyrics, the catchy melodies will create colorful splashes of imagery in your minds. Once (movie and soundtrack with songs performed by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova - see profile avatar): Once, which takes place in modern Dublin, is an indie movie about a street musician meeting a single mother who has just immigrated from Czech; the film beautifully illustrates the influence they have on each other musically, as well as the pseudo-romantic feelings they were beginning to feel for each other. It starred Glen Hansard (of Irish band 'The Frames') as the cynical guitarist performing on the street, and Marketa Irglova as a skilled, classically trained pianist struggling in a new environment.
