I'm a university student in my fourth year of a bachellor's program in Anthropology and hoping to, one day, get my PhD even though I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do with it when I get it - but hey, at least if I wind up waiting tables for the rest of my life at least I can say I have a doctorate. My interests within Anthropology have bounced around quite a bit, initially being ancient civilizations - particularly ancient East Asia -, monumental architecture, and masonry, but have now, for the most part, migrated towards the more biological aspects of anthropology, such as osteology, paleoanthropology and hominin evolution. Basically, my dream future is to be able to play with bones for a living. Yay, dead things! And yes, I do get strange looks when I tell that to people. In the meantime I wait tables and occasionally write when I feel motivated and inspired enough to do so, other than that I spend time being lazy. I'm spaz-happy and will shower you in glomps online, and am marginally more reserved and quiet in real life. I'm also a really big music buff, with some of the more obscurer underground (usually Scandinavian or European) bands numbering in my favourites. I can tell you tons about classic rock/pop, alternative rock, metal, symphonic metal, industrial, darkwave, EBM and gothic, but can probably tell you next to nothing about mainstream hiphop/pop/whatever it is kids these days are listening to; I generally let my music influence the mood of a lot of my pieces. Interesting(?) fact: I am a huge, nerdy fan of old school SNES RPGs. Fandoms/Tendencies: Ah, fandoms. My fandom tastes tends to parallel that of my music tastes, in that I like to hang around the more obscurer ones and don't understand what all the fuss is about in the extremely popular ones. My fandom tastes are also wide-spread, and I tend to jump fandoms, post sporadically, leave, and come back again whenever I'm feeling particularly inspired by something, which comes and goes in phases. I tend to focus more on individual characters and their stories and characterization, rather than focussing on pairings or on the epic plots of epics. I find exploring the personalities of certain characters and their relationships with other characters far more interesting than trying to cram them into a pairing for the sake of smut or throw them into a wild adventure, which is why all my pieces tend to be so short. Of course, my favourite type of characters tend to be the anti-heroes, the morally grey ones, or even the anti-villains - basically, the more angsty a character is the more likely they'll tend to be my favourite characters. When I do decide to include pairings in my work they tend to gravitate more towards slash because, basically, once a slash girl always a slash girl, but I've found that as I've gotten older I no longer have any problem writing het. I still, however, only tend to write it if it's necessary to the plot and to the characterization of a character. I also try to write within the realm of canonity, although do not strictly adhere to it.
