Astounded, you quickly fumble around in your backpack for your phonebook-thick dictionary on rare, ass-ugly creatures. Yanking it out, you immediately start flipping excitedly through the pages until you land on the picture that resembles the strange creature. There is a block of text beneath: "The ShadowDemon-Gengar is an extremely unique creature being that there is only one of its species - scholars and renowned scientists believe it is due to its hideousness, but there is the slim chance that it is because of its anti-social nature. It is often seen delving in books with hard-core sex content between delicious, strange males and modern-day females, and it is never without the device known as the iPod. Scholars are certain beyond a doubt that it is simply because the creature has developed an odd attachment to the object's rectangular shape rather than its ability to hold and play back thousands of songs. It's rare that this creature is found alone. Oftentimes it is seen in the presence of the creative, well-known creature known as the Blackwing.Rose or tends to follow the ever-moving, intelligent creature called the Syrus Magistus. The ShadowDemon-Gengar is far from dangerous or hostile, but it does possess the ability to come off as such when it speaks its mind on controversial subjects (i.e. Gay Marriage, Abortion, Religion, Politics, etc.) and about those who are complete and unforgivable dumbasses. The ShadowDemon-Gengar also seems to possess the ability to construct reviews for horrible fanfiction stories, its opinions and words often lengthy and scathing, and it tends to not give two shits if its comments hurt or anger the author's feelings. With a grin, you slap the book closed and start digging around inside your bag again for your camera; however, when you look up, you find, much to your awful disappointment, that the creature has left. HelloSugah is in the process of piecing together a livejournal community called "Raw Doujinshi Scans". You can read her more thorough proposal and information of the community here, but the community is for those who love reading and owning doujinshi on their favorite fandoms, but because they can be expensive to an average-paid person (10-20 dollars a piece with private/personal sellers; 30-50 dollars a piece on sites like eBay), HelloSugah is offering us a wonderful opportunity. She's looking for at least ten people (myself included) to help get the community off the ground. Instead of paying a good chunk on just one doujinshi, she's offering an idea: each member puts a few bucks into the community's money pot and she'll break apart and scan her books (the right way) and give them to those with membership to the community. In other words, instead of getting one book for 10 from any other seller, you'll get ten or so scanned books for that same amount. And the more people who sponsor, the less and less everyone has to add to the money pot. This idea offers a cheap and honest way to get doujinshi without having to deal with the normal expense, shipping, possible damages, or having to possibly ruin your own book just to scan a panel or two. Of course, other services are welcomed in place of a sponsor, such as a translator or a scanner. As I totally agree with her, freeloaders (or 'leeches', as they're called) will not be given membership (or will have their membership taken away) to the community.
