UPDATE (Jul. 5/09) I've officially branched out from Inuyasha fanfiction into the world of Bleach fanfiction with the start of my newest fanfic, Devil's Smile. I started watching the Bleach anime only a few weeks ago, but it didn't take me long to chew through the entire series. After that, well, I couldn't resist! I haven't forgotten The Gatherer of Souls, but I'm having some trouble getting into the story because I no longer have access to the Inuyasha anime to fire up my inspiration. As for my publishing aspirations, I've currently received five rejection letters from agents, and I'm now rewriting parts of the manuscript based on feedback from my precious beta readers.

UPDATE (May 27/09) Still updating The Gatherer of Souls. It's going slowly, but at least progress is being made. As for progress on getting that novel published, I've offically received two rejection letters from agents, so I'm no longer a complete novice. Go me! At the moment, I'm doing some revisions to the first few chapters of the manuscript while I wait for more agent replies and prepare my next batch of letters to go out.

UPDATE (Nov. 11/08) Well, another summer passed and I never got around to writing any fanfiction. I finally realized that I was never going to have the time for it, so I would have to MAKE the time! Thus, I have begun posting a new Inuyasha fanfic, The Gatherer of Souls. Let's just hope my "making time" strategy is going to hold up! I also confess that part of my FFnet inspiration is that I've finished the manuscript of that novel I've been working on, so I have some spare writing time while I begin the slow and terrifying process of weasling my way into the world of publishing. Wish me luck!

Perhaps the most important question I can ask myself is, why do I write? I write because I love to. It's that simple. I don't write for fame and glory (meaning reviews ;-), I don't write to please my readers (sorry guys), I write just for me. I write the story as I want it to happen, I develop the characters in the way I want them to go, and I end the story in the way I want it to end. I post my writing because I love sharing my passion and getting feedback, and I know how much I enjoy reading, and I hope that other people well find some enjoyment from reading my writing. And if it so pleases you, review my story, just so I know that you're out there, but I'm not going to beg for reviews, or force readers into it. It's your choice, just as it's my choice to write.

A five-hundred year old prophecy; a demon with the power of life and death.
