About Me: There have been three significant periods in my life up until this point, this point being the year 2010. The first consisted of my blissfully ignorant years (see any stories written before 2008). The second pertained to my awkward middle years, kind of like my cocoon years even though they occurred when I was legally considered an adult (see "Chasm" and "Reasonable Madness"). The third is the stage in which I am now, and if I had to label it, it would go something along the lines of the bitter but necessary consciousness of reality years (see "And:Reboot"). I know that some people will be upset to know that I will not be continuing "Reasonable Madness," but after serious contemplation, I simply cannot. I was writing it during the time when I was realizing, Ah, so this is life, but I was still not yet able to depict that life within my writing. RM does touch upon reality on occasion, but mostly it's how I wished the world would be, not to mention the fact that the stylistics of my writing were still being honed and have seriously changed. Which brings me to now, I suppose. Now, I really am writing for myself, or from myself, as it might be more apt to say. A lot of my personal shift is due to my undergraduate work revolving around identity construction, an issue I plan on working out further in graduate school. While being conscious of such a complicated and oftentimes heartbreaking dynamic, I now find it impossible to write a story where the characters are not written realistically--and of course, what I consider realistic is subjective. Add to that the fact that a large amount of bad things have been happening to me and around me as of late, forcing me to really stop and look at things. I know all of this makes me sound, I don't know, like a bunghole really, but I merely wish to try and express where I am mentally and emotionally at this time. In all actuality, I am a hyperactive and outgoing individual, but I'm at a point in my life where I take my writing very seriously, I suppose, because I know what it is capable of. Still, I try my best to write characters truly and do my best to put forth a good story. Please enjoy. And if you ever have questions/comments/issues about anything, do tell me--whether through email, PM, or review. I'm always up for a good conversation. Thank you.

Universal Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters featured in my stories. Obviously. But if I did... :D

Currently-Active-Fic STATUS (updated when I make story progress)

"Here is Gone"
--Series: Naruto
--Pairing: Naruto x Gaara (yaoi)
--Rating: M
--Summary: AU; There are some people who make you want to change yourself. Not in some bad way, or some twisted, abusive-relationship way. Not like that. But in a good way. He was a little bit like that—Gaara.
--Status: in progress
--My comments: I wasn't sure what to call this at first, but then I read the lyrics of the Goo Goo Dolls song that it's named after and was like--eureka. That's it. It's another long oneshot (though not terribly long) that's going to be pretty serious. Well, the subject matter is serious, but there's still a lighthearted aspect to it. I'm still planning it so we'll see. I was inspired by an episode of Cold Case. On a random note, Cold Case always makes me cry.

"Prenuptial Agreement"
--Series: Naruto
--Pairing: Naruto x Gaara (yaoi)
--Rating: T
--Summary: AU; "Why'd you leave?" "You know why." - In which Naruto approaches Gaara at a wedding, arousing a series of comments regarding the present that have a unique association with the past.
--Status: in progress
--My comments: Hah! Something rated T for once. This might beat HIG as far as completion simply because I need to write it out before I lose it. It's going to be a weird, shifty sort of not exactly ambiguous story that takes place during a relatively short period of time. Also a oneshot. Because I'm not going to torture anyone, least of all myself, with a multi-chaptered attempt just yet.

Future Prospects (as of 2/5/2010)

"The Stone-Blindfold" -- A long-ish oneshot, maybe 10,000 words or less. Maybe (probably) more. It's NaruGaa, and the inspiration hit me with such a sudden force that I know I'll have to peddle this out within (god knows when). It's more of the sweet, fluffy fanfare, but with its own maturity and underlying symbolism. Rated T. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever write this. God help me, but I will. I just don't know when.

"Be Not Proud" -- I started this story (tentatively a 3-part fic) 3 years ago, but abandoned it. But now I'm feeling like I might scrap what I have and completely start it over, because the idea has been practically stalking me this past weekend. The story is AU and centers on how insanity follows after Gaara meets Naruto on a cold, winter day. It's actually a pretty serious-ish fic that is somewhat easygoing? Think--the steady progression of everyday interactions...only not really. I'm loving these impromptu summaries. Rated M. Again, NaruGaa. That's all I have on the brain lately.

"the ghost of you" -- I actually have a legit summary for this: Naruto swears he’s being followed by a boy that no one else sees. Enter stumped classmates, a psychologist, and many one-sided conversations. NaruGaara. AU. Yaoi. Oneshot. Rated T. I may not even put this one up, but I started it randomly two weeks ago and a weird part of myself wants to finish it.

Misc. Ramblings of Friday, February 5, 2010: Wow. SBM is complete. I won't even know what to do with myself now (as if I have all this "free time" now, pfft, yeah...). "Here is Gone" is my latest NaruGaa project. I've actually started it, and I'm proud to say that it's four sentences long so far. Hey, it's a start.

"I'm a storyteller. I'll work to make you believe me. Throw in some real stuff, change a few details, add the certainty of outrage. I know the use of fiction in a world of hard truth, the way fiction can be a harder piece of truth. The story of what happened, or what did not happen but should have—that story can become a curtain drawn shut, a piece of insulation, a disguise, a razor, a tool that changes every time it is used and sometimes becomes something other than we intended.
The story becomes the thing needed."
- Dorothy Allison, Two Or Three Things I Know For Sure
