Hello. My name is Tana Proma, and I love fanfiction. I have written a whole lot of fanfiction, most of them being oneshots. If you didn't know already, I have a strange fasination for Sirius Black. And I assure you mostly all my stories, save one or two, will have Sirius as the main character. If my story does not have Sirius at all, there will be at least one or two references about him. Sirius Black is my favorite fictional character. No one tops him.
I like his chracter, not because he is the best looking character in the book (that is a fact, Jo Rowling said so herself), but because of his tragic life. I think that Sirius will probably be one of the most abused characters, save Harry. Sirius spent his childhood in a twisted dark house, his golden years were stripped from him because he was imprisoned, he failed to capture Pettigrew, was rediculied in his own house, and of course he died after that.
Sometimes I curse J.K. Rowling for writing him like this. It kills me to actually think about how much pain and suffering he had to go through. But if she didn't, I guess I would never be this obsessed with Sirius as I am today.
Reading fanfiction, I realized that there were a couple of things that really irked me. One of them being Sirius Bashing. I promise to flame any fic that bashes Sirius. I don't like it. The second is Sirius being protrayed as a 'bottom'. If you analyze his character you will see that there is NOTHING FEMININE about Sirius Black. The man is bitter, dark, reckless, and dangerous. Come on? A bottom? No way! The third thing that irks me is when Authors claim that James Potter is the leader of the Marauders. NO!! No idiots! I swear if I have to write another review stating that Sirius Black and James Potter were equals, I will have to freaking kill myself. Didn't anyone read book three? Where McGonagall clearly stated that 'Black and Potter were ringleaders of their gang', 'They were so close, you'd think they were brothers', 'Never seen one without the other' . . . get it?? EQUALS!! The forth thing that irks me is when authors protray him as this soft kind loving man. No offense, but Sirius ain't soft or all that kind. Sure, he is in the Order and he hates Voldemort, but that doesn't mean that the man is an angel. Sirius is dark. He comes from a screwed up family, his best friend and his wife gets killed and he gets blamed for the murder, and he spends 11 years in Azkaban ... How can someone who has been through so much still be 'soft', 'kind', and 'loving'? Last thing that irks me is when Sirius is protrayed as a womanizer. I know I do it, but some people take it to the extreme. It's annoying. It's impossible to date the whole Hogwarts population.

P.S: I greatly dislike Hermione Granger. The only reason she is featured in my fanfic's are because of the fact that I like pairing her up with Sirius, and since it's my OTP, she has to be a major character, whether I like her or not.

As you can see, whenever I read slash with Sirius, I need him to be a top. If he is not, I cannot read the fic, and will most likely gag at the idea of Sirius letting anyone go near his arse. Sirius' character demands authority, and I hate it when he is represented as a bottom. As much as I like the thought of Sirius/James, it displeases me greatly that I cannot read most fics because of the fact that some authors make Sirius a flimsy, whiny, little lover boy who obsesses over his best friend. Sirius is ANYTHING but flimsy or whiny...
SHIPS THAT I DISLIKE:
HARRY/HERMIONE... it's disgusting. I am so disgusted by this ship that even if I see this as a minor ship in any story... I still won't read it! It's disgusting. Harry doesn't seem right with anyone besides Ginny. Stick to your red-heads scarhead!
