Author has written 42 stories for Tamora Pierce, Harry Potter, and Bones.

I am a real fan of books and am making the bold attempt to become a writer. My own book, Something Special is officially written, as are both sequels of the Fox Tales Trilogy -- Too Much, and New Realities, and I'm trying to find a publisher. I stepped out of fantasy and did a coming of age mystery called Mall Madness as well. The madness might have been the speed with which I wrote it -- 39 days for 125,000 words. No matter what happens, I can actually say I've written four books all my own, even if I never get published. If rejections make you a real writer, then I am one.

While hunting for a publisher, I launched into a continuation series (The Wrath of Golreth) which is also part one of a trilogy, Favored Creations. Book two, called Children of Nighttide is in planning stages, and the third story, Prophesy of the White King, seems almost too far away to contemplate. Then I put that on hold and started a gothic novel called Secrets of Gilliad, which is a werewolf story with a native American twist. Between that, edits for submissions, short-stories for magazines, and a full time job, my writing seems to have slowed greatly, but I'm still plodding along.

I take breaks from my original work occasionally to put things here. I recently finished On the Emerald Ocean. -- a study in the humanity of some of my favorite Tortall Characters. It was a challenge to write because it's built like a chain. The POV character for each chapter changes and that person must have had contact with the POV character of the previous chapter. It prequells Two Weeks in Carthak, which is outlined a few paragraphs below.

I did start a Bones Fic as a tribute to my friends Sarah and Ava. It's moving slowly for all the reasons I listed two paragraphs above.

I love HP and have read the books too many times to admit to. I haven't written much HP fanfiction though. There are currently four: The Trap, which is the story of how Dumbledore defeated the evil wizard Grindelwald in 1945. It is complete at 23 chapters and was written before Deathly Hallows was released, so it ended up being out of canon. Out of the Dark was a oneshot for a challenge. This is the story of changing sides and how difficult that decision is. It was the winner for the Hideout monthly challenge, but also ended up being out of canon. Unrequited is a oneshot regarding the often suggested feelings between Albus Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall. This is set after HBP and is very sad and now also very out of canon.

Wingardium Leviosa: This is a oneshot regarding the amount of trouble self-assigned homework can cause 1st year Neville Longbottom. The moral of this story is never aim a wand at your lap, unless you're prepared for the consequences.

Currently, I have nine completed Immortal stories, three are one-shots and six are quite lengthy. I've already mentioned On the Emerald Ocean, but the others are as follows:

Juggling: A story about the joy that Numair and Daine bring to each other on an everyday basis. This is set after EM. In my timeline it comes after both "Mitigating Circumstances" and "Two Weeks In Carthak". This story is designed to foreshadow and to show Numair's confusion. It shows an extremely fun-loving Daine which has been criticized as too young. Read it and tell me what you think. It's a short oneshot.

Good Advice This is the story of how Daine tells Alanna and Onua about the change in realtionship between herself and Numair. This is set after ROTG. It's a short oneshot.

Flying This is a story about the joy of flying and about Daine and Numair's obvious connection. This is set after ROTG and in my timeline comes after "Good Advice". They don't exactly tell Jon and Thayet but the king and queen kind of see a change in their relationship. It's a short oneshot.

Two Weeks In Carthak: This is EM from Numair's perspective. This has some very sexual dreams which is why the high rating. It covers the missing information from EM that we never really get from cannon without stepping too far outside cannon. It has the execution and some cool magic. It also has some nice conversations between Alanna and Numair, building the "like-sibblings" relationship that they have. This is 22 chapters long with 43,886 words.

Mitigating Circumstances: This follows EM in cannon timeline and follows "Two Weeks In Carthak" in my timeline. The Tortallans host a peace delegation from the Copper Isles, who asked to come after the successful treaty with Carthak. But the Copper Isles aren't honest about their intentions. A beautiful woman is among them and she is supposed to seduce Numair, but there are mitigating circumstances. A main character dies but there are mitigating circumstances. Daine realizes that she loves Numair, but there are mitigating circumstances. This is 23 chapters long with 46,038 words.

Enemies: Sequel to Mitigating Circumstances. An intricate plot that turns friends into enemies threatenes to destroy Tortall from the inside out. Meanwhile, Onua starts a relationship with a handsome stranger. Can Numair and Daine save their friends before they are both turned into enemies? Heavy foreshadowing to several relationships and a twist of true love at the end. All still follows Cannon timeline. This is 21 chapters long.

Maelstrom After the fall of the barrier, immortal monsters descend in droves, Ozorne gets too creative, war breaks out, and Daine and Numair struggle to understand emotions they are afraid to admit. This is the sequel to Enemies. It covers such little things as Unicorn Fever, Daine's relationship with Perin, and Jon and Daine's knock on wood. It is 24 chapters long. This story won for "Best Action" in the Circle of Heroes Awards in 2006. All of the nominees were outstanding and I'm proud to have been included among them.

Taken: This is RotG from Numair's POV. It has big, big magic and heavy introspection. There are some funny parts and there is a very, very fluffy and suggestive ending. This is 31 chapters long.

I have been participating in an online challege for Tamora Pierce Drabbles. The site is http://community.livejournal.com/tammy_drabbles/ if you want to check it out. Drabbles are defined as shorts between 100 and 1000 words, so any story by me within this limit and based on a TP novel is probably a drabble. These can include any of Tamora Pierce's Characters, and so I have dabbled around the stories a bit, even including Circle of Magic characters.

My real first name is Beth.

I have a wonderful husband and a precocious 4-year-old son who is nearly as addicted to books as I am.

I do work full time plus teach music lessons.

I am older than 18 (obviously).

I like books of all types. I love Janet Evanovich, Dean Koontz, Lillian Jackson Braun, Sue Grafton, Jonathan Kellerman, Trudi Canavan, some Stephan King and Charles Dickens books, etc. But I want to write young adult fiction. I practically know the Harry Potters by heart and that got me looking into other stuff. I love the idea of magic in books but I like non-magical characters as well. As much as I love JK Rowling's creations, I found Tamora Pierce's characters had more depth. I also like the works of Stroud, Pullman, Paolini, Bray, Palmatier, Butler, and CS Lewis' narrative. You will see echoes of all my favorites in my work, but not because I intentionally swipe lines -- it is because their stories have found their way into the core of who I am. I cannot think of a better compliment for a writer, and I hope someday someone pays me that compliment.

I am part of a writers circle called "The Keyboard Scribblers", made up of people I met on this very site. We proofread, encourage, and offer suggestions. With their support, I've completed three manuscripts and sent out queries for representation. I'm now starting a fourth book with them as my cheering section. Cherish the relationships you build on fanfiction. You never know where they will lead.
