Basics

The name's Brenda!™, or Squishy, as I prefer to be called online. (SquishyCool comes from my nickname and the last name of Tre Cool, my idol. It's usually my username for just about any site I'm registered on.) But you can call me either, it doesn't really matter. My birthday is November 18th. I'm 17 and usually act it, though I can be very mature for my age, and I tend to be considerably more intelligent than most of the kids my age (and pretty much all of my family). I'm not cocky, I've just seen so many retarded teenagers (especially the ones who say shit like, 'books are dum' or 'readings gay'...idiots) that I have come to think this. I live in a small-ish town in Kansas. I'm a senior at EHS. I'm a stoner and a procrastinator, among other things. I'm very opinionated, argumentative, and stubborn. I worked at McDonald's for a year and a half, but then got fired, so I don't have a job right now. I'm in love with my amazing boyfriend; since 10.05.08. I love music, movies, TV, books, video games, and especially internet. I don't spend as much time online as I used to, but I get on when I get the chance, which is usually everyday for at least a couple of hours. Believe me - I used to spend way more time on the computer. I don't watch much TV, but I do sometimes. Then again, there isn't much on anymore that's even worth watching. I'm almost always either working or at a party, or with friends, tokin' it up. I hate staying at my house for too long, though I can be a huge homebody some days. I currently live in El Dorado, but I plan on moving to LA next year with my boyfriend, and if that doesn't end up happening, then I'm definitely moving to Lawrence(, Kansas). I hate where I live; fandom is my escape.
I love to make new friends and have conversations about anything and everything. I'm a really nice person when you get to know me, and I'll do anything for the people I care about. I may seem sarcastic and a bit rude sometimes, but I'm usually not meaning to be. So don't be afraid to start chatting me up anytime!

Favorites?

Music: My favorite band of all time is Green Day, followed by Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance, Atreyu, Chiodos, The Used, Three Days Grace, Hollywood Undead, 3OH!3, Blue October, and many others. My music taste varies greatly. I'll listen to just about anything... except country. Country makes me want to vomit. And so does most pop. I am highly against the Jonas Brothers and all of those other gay "bands" from Disney and whatnot. I'm also not a huge fan of rap.
Movies: I love comedy movies and horror movies, especially Adam Sandler flicks; my Top 5 favorite movies of all time that I could watch over and over are Step Brothers, 28 Days Later, Billy Madison, 50 First Dates, and The Lion King.
Books: I read a lot, mostly young adult novels and fanfic. I love the Harry Potter series, and I'm highly against Twilight - I think it's crap, to be honest. However, my favorite book is The Alison Rules. I also lovelovelove The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks. You should check them both out.
TV: I'm a huge fan of Family Guy, iCarly (obviously), Nip/Tuck, and South Park. I don't really have time for a lot of TV anymore, because of work and school and all, but I still watch it fairly often. Especially if there are iCarly and Drake & Josh reruns on.
Video Games: Guitar Hero (1, 2, 3), Left 4 Dead, Fable (I & II), Grand Theft Auto (San Andreas, IV), Halo (2, 3), and others.

Writing Habits & Things You Should Know

My fanfic writing started on LiveJournal back in '05. I mostly wrote Green Day slash and stuff for other bands (I still write Green Day fic every now and then on LJ). I came to FF.net around the middle of '07 to find a place to write about iCarly, because I suddenly got the urge to write about it one day, and I wanted to write a Sam/Spencer pairing. I didn't find any Sam/Spencer stories, so I wrote mine and posted it, and everyone seemed to like it. Then people started coming out and admitting they loved that pairing, so I'm not gonna lie, I was definitely one of the first to start writing Spam on FF.net. (click here for proof.) However, I do not take full credit for starting it or anything, I'm just saying I'm a huge loyal to the pairing and have been for possibly longer than most.
iCarly is really the only genre I write for on here. There aren't any other shows that interest me to write about quite as much. I may try others someday, but for now, I'm sticking to iCarly. Drake & Josh is okay, and I'll read some of those fics, but I won't write for it. But still, I prefer iCarly. I've only written one story for Fable (a videogame), but that may or may not change in the future.
You Were There is my first fic on this site, and my first iCarly fic, as well as my first fic written for a TV show genre. It's my baby! I'm trying to update it at least once a month, but expect other, separate fics from me (I'm always getting ideas for new stories!) and, of course, I have my fic Simply Lovely with Lucy Carrigan that we're working on. Still, though, I'm going to finish You Were There, guaranteed!
Pairings? I'll write basically any pairing at least once. I like to give everything a try. My favorite for iCarly since day one has been SPAM, no doubt. I'm no longer really anti-Seddie (though I still despise how much it overtakes the fandom and how much the n00bs love it). But in order, for the fandoms I've written for so far, my favorite pairings are:
iCarly: Sam/Spencer, Carly/Sam, Carly/Freddie, Sam/Freddie
Fable: Sparrow/OMC (or OFC), Sparrow/Reaver, Garth/OFC, Sparrow/Garth
Writing Style? I'll tell you right now: I am a spelling and grammar nazi. I'm also huge on punctuation. It just bugs me when people don't proofread their stuff and there are errors. Even small errors bug me - I'm just OCD like that, I guess. I'm a real perfectionist with my own fics, which can be frustrating. My stories are usually only proper for teens like, 14 and up, or 16 and up. My stories usually have a lot of drama, sometimes angst, in them, or so I've been told - if you don't like that kinda stuff, then don't read it. I've been writing like this since I was 14, but I'm not sure what parents consider suitable anymore, they're all so overprotective these days. Basically, though, my stories are realistic: there is cussing, and there are real-life situations. And every now and then, there's some explicit sex - though I don't do that much with the iCarly fandom, and if I do, it's usually fairly mild. When I wrote Green Day and band slash, almost every one of my stories had explicit sex scenes, some more than others. It's just how I am about fanfic, and stories in general. Get over it. If you don't like what I write, don't read it. Click 'back' and go read something else. Simple as that.
If I review your story, I'll usually be sure to give you some constructive criticism. And I never flame stories for being something I don't like; I think there needs to be variety when it comes to fanfic, and if I don't like what you're writing about, I'll read something else. Everyone should do this. I don't believe in telling people that their story sucks or something and then not telling them how they can better their writing. So you better not do that when you review my stories. Usually, every story has its good parts and is good in a way, but some stories need more improvement than others. As a writer, you should always be working on bettering your writing style, though, so just keep that in mind. :)

YOU'RE OFFENDED BY THIS? YOU DON'T LIKE THIS? THEN DON'T READ MY SHIT. DON'T WHINE TO ME ABOUT HOW "OFFENDED" YOU ARE, BECAUSE I DO NOT GIVE A FUCK. IT'S HOW I TALK, AND I DO NOT BELIEVE IN GIVING WORDS POWER OVER US, SO WHY SHOULD YOU?
I could rant about that all day, but I'm not going to. I'm just going to leave it at this: those words are part of my vocabulary, and I'm not changing that for you. If you don't like the way I talk, then don't read what I say. Is that really so hard? Now get the fuck over it and worry about more important things.

Dedications/Mentions?!

January '09 - ShatteredDiamonds, Ad Astra Per Aspera
For the first time in the iCarly fandom, I got a fic dedicated to me! And by an amazing author (ShatteredDiamonds), nonetheless. It's called Ad Astra Per Aspera and I highly suggest you read it (by clicking on the link): not just because it's dedicated to me, but because it's by far one of the best fics I've ever read. Very memorable! It's dramatic, graphic, realistic, and wonderful! It's also her baby, and I can see why. She worked extremely hard on it, and you can tell when you read it. This author is a great reviewer of fics, and also a great writer who appreciates great reviews. I'm basically in love with her - in a writer sort of way, of course! :3
She has other fantastic fics, as well. I firstly recommend Rain, which is one of my favorite chaptered fics of all time; it's a Sam-centric fic where Sam disappears and Carly and Freddie must delve into an underground world to find her; this underground world contains some of the best OC's I've ever seen (Ringer and Speed are so great!). It's the fic that got me interested in her stuff. I also recommend Mistakes Aren't Always Regrets, a Cam fic that is definitely in the Top 3 Best Cam Fics I've Ever Read. Her stuff is dramatic and real, raw and enthralling, and completely worth your time. I feel so honored to have such amazing work dedicated to me. :D

April '09 - nochi_san, Angel Wings
I wrote this Cam fic called There For You (and its follow-up, All Around Me), in which I depict a scene where Carly is an angel with magnificent wings. Well, this super amazing girl (nochi_san) who read it just had to draw the image, and this is what came of it: Angel Wings! I absolutely love it, and I'm so honored to have something drawn to go along with one of my fics. It's basically exactly how I pictured it in my head, and it's just perfect! This girl is talented and amazing! :)

This person (Coldbloodonmysword) wrote a really awesome story (iRradiated) which contains some of my characters and plot from my fic KCJDC! It's a really cool story and they used my stuff really well, so you should definitely read it.

So yeah, I know I have a LOT of works in progress and stories that need updating and some that I've got the ideas developed for but I haven't even started writing on... but just give me time. I'm a very busy person that can only write when I really feel like writing, so don't push me.
