Update: I can't believe it's almost October. I have my birthday coming up on Saturday -- I'll have to change my age down below, heh -- and then, right around the corner, there's NaNoWriMo. I'm still focusing on a few fics: Inside a Broken Mind, my retelling of Harper's Island from Henry's POV, is coming along nicely, and The Pigeon is more than 2/3rds of the way done. There's only one or two more chapters of Sleepwalker left and I really want to get the next chapter of L'Heure Bleue before I attend to some other neglected WIP's. Here's to getting that all done before the crazyness that is November!

From the author: To be honest, I don't really know where the idea came from for this. It just popped in my head one day while I was taking my shower and I couldn't help but act on it. It's first person, which I always have a hard time with - and, not to mention, it's a Skittery story. Definitely a challenge but, considering how much I love a good mystery-type story, I think this will be a good one.

From the author: I'm really excited about this one. I started a story called Broken Promises almost two years ago and forgot about it until recently. I decided I would revise it and bring a more mythological view to it; a Maldição de Diabo is the result. It will have humor, drama, mystery, passion, suspense, ghosts and tons more. If you have to read something I write (which you should), make it this. Yes, it is by far my longest but I also think it's my best.

The Sparrow – Newsies
Finished: October 3, 2008
From the author: Honestly, I don't know where the idea for this came from -- but I do know it's been lurking for a little bit. I rewrote the beginning chapter twice, changed the title three times and finally took the basic premise and fleshed out something the resembles a plot. It's going to be a mystery adventure (of course), with narration similiar in the vein of Pick Your Poison, but featuring David Jacobs. I think it's high time that I devoted a fic to one of my favorite characters. I just hope I do him justice. And introduce some readers to the good side of Sarah -- she's not all bad ;)

The Lark – Newsies
Finished: March 15, 2009
From the author: When I started The Sparrow, I wasn't entirely sure where I was taking it. It started with the creation of three characters: Alfie, Teller and the Sparrow. Add that to the idea that Sarah Jacobs wasn't as two-dimensional as we all assumed and The Sparrow was the result. However, after 15 chapters, I decided to take the mystery to a whole new level. So far we know certain things that Sarah was hiding from her brother, we know why Jack and Spot are looking for her, why Teller's following David and why the Sparrow wanted Sarah in the first place. Just wait until you see what you discover in the second part!

Visionary – Newsies

Fire and Rain – Harper's Island
From the author: After exploring the CBS summer murder mystery series, Harper's Island, mainly through oneshots, I decided it was time that I tried to work on a longer piece that goes into detail about what happens to Abby and Jimmy after they get off of the island. It starts with their arrival in Seattle and will continue past that as the two survivors try their best to get past what happened during the series.

Inside a Broken Mind – Harper's Island
From the author: Henry was one of my favorite characters on the show. When all was said and done and we learned the motivations and the identity of the killer, I sat back and wondered just how it could've been done -- that, and how he was able to pull it off all along. Broken Mind is kind of my attempt to answer those questions for myself and for anyone else who was curious. Getting inside a murderer's head is so much fun (as weird as that sounds) and I hope I do him justice.

The Pigeon – Newsies
From the author: When I started The Sparrow, I never expected it take poor David on such a journey. As The Lark ended, David is a more confident, stronger character than when he started. He knows more and he's starting to speak up. But he doesn't know everything and, as he finally is on his way to meet the boy who started this whole thing, he's armed with both his wits and a fledgling curiosity. Who is the Pigeon? Put it this way -- we know, and it's only a matter of time until David knows, too.

L'Heure Bleue – Twilight
From the author: Ah, my first chaptered Twilight fic. I recently (May or so) started to read the Twilight Saga and, by the time I was done, I was so fascinated by that world that I thought I would write a fic. I feel that Rosalie is seriously underrated and I decided to write a story that explored her relationship with Bella. But, never fear shippers! The first chunk of the story is most definitely all Bella/Edward :)

Sleepwalker – Labyrinth
From the author: Sleepwalker is the example of what happens when my Newsies muse goes to sleep at night and my mind is still whirring. I was watching Labyrinth and began to think about what happened to Jareth and Sarah following the labyrinth's defeat. It will be mystical with a healthy dose of angst and paranoia but (it should) have a happy ending. I think...

Obsession: Cuts like a Knife – Newsies
From the author: Obsession is the author's rewrite of CLAK. It is truer to historical accuracy and further explores the relationships between Jessa and Rip, as well as Rip and Spindle. It ties into Rip's story, A Virgin's Touch. For anyone who has -- or has not -- read CLAK, I suggest you read Obsession.

Murder in the Moonlight – Twilight
From the author: I've been doing a lot of reading in my downtime -- whenever that is -- and I've been focusing on Agatha Christie mysteries as of late. One of them -- Death on the Nile -- was set on a Egyptian cruise and I adored it. I don't really know how, but I found myself wondering what would happen if Bella Swan was (unwillingly, of course) thrust into the role of Hercule Poirot. Murder in the Moonlight is the result of that ;)

Legacy – Newsies
From the author: Legacy is the sequel to my epic fanfic, a Maldição de Diabo. Set in the year 2004, five years after the events of Diabo, this story will follow the supernatural/mythological adventures of Diana Mason and Patrick Conlon. There aren't any ghosts, per se, in this fic but how do you feel about leprechauns and magical keys? Plus a cameo or two by our very own Spot Conlon. Humor, romance, betrayal, magic and utter confusion abounds. Enjoy!

LOST – Newsies
From the author: Now that AVT is finally completed, I have decided to start another (emotionally draining, if all goes as planned) story: a Newsies adaptation of the Broadway musical, RENT. With David Jacobs as the 'Mark Cohen' role and Jack Kelly being 'Roger Davis', I can already see endless possibilities.

Never Enough – Newsies
From the author: This is another one of my personal favorites. I started this story in the Summer of 2002 and actually stopped it after the sixth chapter. I did not pick it back up until 2006 and I have really continued with the story. It is a story set in 1921, with all the newsies grown up - however, they did not change too much. Jack Kelly runs an outfit called the Manhattan Mob - his enemy? Spot Conlon and his Brooklyn Boys. It is set with Prohibition as the backdrop but the main story is their rivalry and the effect it has on the relationship between Jack's daughter and Spot's son. It's kind of Romeo & Juliet meets a '30's mob flick.

From the author: This is my second serious Labyrinth story; it is much darker than Sleepwalker and was designed to be a realistic sequel to the film.

From the author: This will be the last installment in the Jack/Stress series. I have been writing this saga for four years now, and it's time for the last chapter. No matter how long it takes me, I will eventually finish this one. I'll never be able to leave the fandom until I do. Promise.

Curiouser and Curiouser – Newsies
From the author: I started a story I called Stress in Newsieland back in 2002; this is a rewritten take on that story. Obviously, it is a Newsies/Alice in Wonderland crossover. It is designed to be a humorous parody and will incorporate as many NML listees as possible.

Death is the Wages of Sin– Newsies
From the author: This is a brand new story that I just started. It is a modern fic and will incorporate violence, drugs, sex and (minor) slash. It is a modern (and humorous, I hope) take on the story of the 1930's outlaw duo, Bonnie & Clyde, played by Becky & Spot. I already enjoy it because it's interesting to write a modern character take on our favorite historical characters.
