Before I begin, I stress that I'm not actually a teacher, or in fact anything of the sort; I am merely a 18-year-old girl who likes peculiar pennames.

I'm not a Harry Potter fanatic (but I agree that the books can get rather addictive, as can some of the fanfiction, and I eagerly await the next novel); neither am I a great Pokemon enthusiast any more, although I find that well-written fanfiction about either can be a pleasure to read sometimes. My current preoccupations include 'My Fair Lady' and 'Titanic the Musical', which I feel privileged tohave performed with my local theatre group at the Liverpool Empire Theatrelast June.

As far as Fanfiction goes, I tend to write fanfics about pretty random things, which is great if you like that sort of thing.

I enjoy writing mainly original literature, although my current work in progress on FF.Net is a My Fair Lady fic - 'My Fair Lady - Ascot to Brighton'. I must admit though, things are pretty much grinding to a halt as far as the plot is concerned. Maybe one day I'll get some sudden inspiration and finish it. My summary for it is a bit vague, so I will describe how I came about writing it in more detail here - if you're interested.

The fiction is based upon one line which is present in both My Fair Lady and Pygmalion, although this fiction is based more upon the My Fair Lady version of the story. Eliza, Higgins and Pickering have returned from the Embassy Ball and Higgins and Pickering are highly self-congratulatory; entirely ignoring Eliza and her performance at the Ball as a real lady. After Pickering leaves to go to bed, Eliza flares up at Higgins and demands to know what she may take with her when she leaves (Higgins had ordered Mrs Pearce, the housemaid, to burn all of Eliza's ragged, cockney clothes so that Pickering could buy her new ones). She then spitefully requests that Higgins take the hired jewellry so that she could not be accused of stealing if they were missed. She takes a ring from her finger and says "the ring - it's not the jeweller's; it's the one you bought me in Brighton. I don't want it now", at which Higgins raises the ring above his head and throws it into the fire grate; Eliza fearing that he might hit her. The reference to Brighton is my inspiration for writing this fanfiction, as this apparent outing is not otherwise mentioned in either Pygmalion or My Fair Lady, although it would presumably have happened in the six weeks which passed between Ascot and the Embassy Ball.
