Welcome to the profile of The Batchild! Why, hello there! My name is Leigh, but here on the interwebs, I am known as The Batchild. Batman has been my favourite superhero and a source of inspiration since I was about two, and I have also resided firmly in the world of Star Trek since about the same time. I watch a lot of movies and television, read like there’s no tomorrow and write as if my life depended on it. Eventually, I would like to be a published author capable of sustaining myself off my writing, but beyond that, I would like to write for a video game developer or maybe a television show. I'm profoundly weird and am not afraid to show it. I dance badly in public, sing at the top of my lungs whenever I can; I run around the rain, jump into puddles just because I can. I love thunderstorms and the rain, mild and cool days. I sleep with a stuffed animal named Ice Bat. He's an Ugly Doll and keeps my dreams as weird as my waking hours, if not weirder. I'm a nerd and proud to be one. I used to write fanfiction more than I do now, but I’m more focused on my original stuff now, since that will eventually be my career. I don’t plan on giving up fanfiction totally, and I do want to finish what I have posted, but there will no longer be speedy updates. I believe fanfiction will become more of a stress relief thing. We’ll see. Anyways, here’s some stuff about the fanfiction posted and the stuff that will definitely be coming up. My Supernatural fanfiction is more of a fic monster. It has ten one-shots and ten, ten chapter books that are sort of a companion to the show. This is the order of the story, in which it should be read ot make the most sense and the order it will be written, although you don’t have to read it in this order for it to make sense, as it doesn’t really make sense anyway… Oh well. I’m quite fond of it, but it is written mostly for private enjoyment. It, like the show, is not overly happy. It's heavy on the language and the violence and maybe, eventually the sex. The titles in italics are finished and posted. Book One, Zombies And these are the titles of fics that I will most likely be posting after I finish the stuff I’m working on: Behind the Shadow (working title, Batman Begins/The Dark Knight/The Dark Knight Rises) -a fanfiction for The Dark Knight Rises. Obviously, this will not be written until after the movie comes out. It’s the sequel to Superhero’s Confidante (no, don’t read it!) and Chances Are (yeah, you can read that one), and it, like The Dark Knight Rises will be the last movie, will be the final fic in the Nolan-verse. Like the movies, it's liable to be sad and depressing and dark. It does not have a happy ending. How do I know that? Because I know how it's going to end, silly. I don't care if Warner Brothers makes a million more Batman movies set in the same 'verse. It won't be the same without the Chris-es and this fic ends with the genius. Things I WANT to write but likely never will: More X-Men. Maybe a fic for X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Evolution, Wolverine and the X-Men, X-Men: Destiny or another one of the spin-offs. Or more with the movies. Not sure yet, but I want to write more in the fandom because I love it and I love my mutant characters. | |||||||
