Welcome to the crossover madness that is The Quantum Nothing!

ABOUT US:
++
We are composed of Jesanae Tekani, Withdrawn, and Faust (who does not have his own FFN account), and our peculiar username is the result of finding a random 'name' to fill in for our original username, which was a peculiar substitute for an acronym (standing for something impolite which we rather wish we could have as our actual username but which we think FFN might not appreciate as we do). We rejected the too-long result, argued, wept, and finally discarded said acronym for something that just sounds randomly cool. Those wondering what this acronym might be are reminded that curiosity is its own virtue (the slaying of cats notwithstanding), and often rewarded.
This joint account was created primarily to host the collaborative works of the group so that Jesanae Tekani would not indirectly get all the credit by having them posted to her own account, despite the fact that they were based on her previous fanfiction. Not wishing to appear excessively vain, she suggested this account as an unsolicited compromise. Nobody likes a glory hog.
----Jesanae: Dickweeds. I wanted the fame.
All that said, as of now, none of these collaborative works are yet finished. No, this is a preemptive account, wherein we will share naughty tidbits of plot, drop tantalizing hints as to our future plans, and generally be nuisances to no real point. Updates will be left whenever we remember to do so, and will always be dated so that you know exactly how lazy we're being at any given moment. While Jesanae scrambles to finish the fanfic that will be the basis for all of this account's contents, Withdrawn and Faust will shuffle about and probably argue with each other while Avenue Q plays in the background.

UPDATES:
++
1/7/08: Jesanae, leaving updates again, has been plagued with far more plot bunnies than is strictly allowed; she is currently engaged in rolling grenades down their plotholes in the hopes that she can undercut their prolific breeding. CD is being plinked at, slowly and painstakingly. WTL is being worked on lightly by Faust, while Withdrawn hides in his emo corner and makes circles on the floor with his index finger. Other than that, there isn't much to report, although other, unrelated-to-this-storyline-and-thus-this-account stuff is being actually accomplished. No apologies are forthcoming; interested parties are encouraged to sod off.

FEATURED SUMMARIES:

Painting the Secrets: Kurama is troubled by
boredom and unresolved emotions, and searches for something to set his
mind at ease. He turns to painting, using it to express all of the
secrets he can't reveal. His paintings are beautiful, vibrant, and seem
to shimmer with unearthly energy. For a time it helps, until one night,
when he paints a bizarre self-portrait that confuses and unnerves him;
he keeps it hidden, but strange happenings begin to plague him, somehow
linked to the painting and to his own emotions. As things begin to
disintegrate around him, can he unravel the painting's mystery before
it destroys his life and sanity? Hiei/Kurama/Hiei, Kurama/Yuusuke,
Yukina/Kuwabara/Yukina, Botan/Koenma/Botan, Yuusuke/Keiko/Yuusuke
Waking the Lost: The Meikai, supposedly sealed away for centuries, has caused an
unexplained time flux between several of the planes to which it used to
connect; the Reikai discovers that there has been a leak for an untold
length of time, which has been interfering with one of the worlds under
King Enma's direct governance and is now beginning to suck in departed
souls, putting them beyond the reach of the Spirit World. While Koenma
mobilizes his own team, King Enma gives him leave to collect more team
members from that very same world to enter the Meikai, free the trapped
souls, and seal off the leak. However, when two new members join the
Tantei, the repercussions for their world cannot be foreseen, and may
mean they have nothing left for which to return. Yuusuke/Kurama/Yuusuke, Yukina/Kuwabara/Yukina, Russell/Edward, Edward/Roy, Winry/Edward, Alphonse/Winry, Riza/Roy

BASIC CROSSOVER NOTES:
++
1) - All series are anime-based. This is only really important for FMA, it being the only one with radical differences between manga and anime, but it ought to be noted that the manga are not the source material for these fics; the anime are.
2) - Yes, they all three exist in the same universe. So sue us. It is possible, and we didn't even have to change much of the series' canon to make it so. Seriously, our crossover-enabling tweaks were relatively minor, and the hugest help to our efforts was actual physics. Remember: immense gravity causes time lag. That's really all you need to know.
3) - We are mean and nasty people. As anyone who has read 'Changing Death' knows, Jesanae goes in heavily for psychological character torture, and Faust is really no better. We initially overwhelmed poor Withdrawn, but he's coming up to speed nicely enough. Beware the Joss Whedon in us.
4) - Shonen-ai subtext. Lots and lots of it. Overt pairings, however, remain a rare animal.
----Withdrawn: Much to my displeasure and, at times, joy.

MISCELLANEOUS:
++
Dude. That's, like, all we have. It's sad, we know. Unless you have questions, which you probably do given that these crossovers seem nominally insane; in that case, PM to your heart's content. We will probably mostly remember to check our e-mail once in a while.
----Faust: (looks blankly at everything and refuses to comment, but does so in a scary voice and while shaking his fist in the air)
