Chances are good you're visiting this page because you're interested in what I'm writing, or you've seen what I've been doing on either deviantART or Drunk Duck.
Some people have expressed confusion over the universe the Demonhunter Side Stories take place in, namely that of Project: Demonhunter. I should like to take this opportunity to try and explain as much as I can about it without giving the story away too much. So, here we go!
Project: Demonhunter is the culmination of seven thousand years of clandestine activity among the gods. They have chosen a soul to house that of the Goddess of All Demons. That soul happens to belong to Toshi Ayame, a fox demon who was killed around the time of her sixteenth birthday. She was resurrected by Lord Enma and a Goddess of Light, Yosei and gave her the hypocritical mantle of the Demonhunter - destined to kill her own kind to maintain the balance of the universe. Luckily for everyone involved, Toshi is a practicing Buddhist priest (not to mention extremely lazy...) and goes out of her way to find peaceful resolutions to the problems brought to her attention... and if that doesn't work, then she has her trusty Soul Reaver to help her bring an end to any conflict.
For the last seven millenia Toshi has kept the peace between mortals and demons, tenuous as it may be. Along the way, she has ended the war between Heaven and Hell, and has helped them set up both the Heaven and Hell Councils, the latter of which oversees all aspects of the afterlife and the supernatural. Toshi heads up Supernatural Control itself, and has agents all over the world to aid in her mission, each specializing in a different aspect of the paranormal.
The Demonhunter Side Stories are the tales of these agents, both from Supernatural Control and from the Soul Reaper Corps that work alongside them.
:A note on the Soul Reaper Corps. - Azrael heads up this sub-organization, followed by his nine Sector Leaders and eighteen Zone Leaders, who then lead thousands of reapers all over the world - The Sector and Zone leaders are the only ones that will be featured in the Side Stories:
My purpose for writing the Side Stories is not only to get the word out about Project: Demonhunter, but to also do some character development for some characters who have been in the background since the beginning of the series, but won't have page time until much later. This way I can simultaneously make the main project go forward, and work on characters so they can be seamlessly written in.
I would also like to say before it becomes too late, none of the characters in these stories are meant to come across as Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus. I try to avoid having two-dimensional characters at all cost... but because I'm working with gods, reapers, and other supernatural characters... things tend to get a bit out of hand when you take someone who's used to beating on godlings and giant monsters and put them into a situation with someone like, say, Danny Phantom or Martin Mystery. I will try my best, as a writer and a fan of the series I'm working in to keep my stories straight on both sides, and my characters under control...ish.
Note #2: There is no specific order in which the stories should be read. Chances are good you can figure out when they take place either by the content of the story itself, or I'll put in a location/date note at the beginning of the story.
