Poll: Ignoring the fact that I swore I'd never do this, I was just wondering whether or not anyone would be interested in a third 'A Matter of ' As in another with Lord Hollingsworth? I've had a few ideas floating about in my head & was just curious. Thx! - V Vote Now!

Author has written 11 stories for Sherlock Holmes.

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." - Romans 12:2

Oh ma gracious, that old bio was ancient:) But honestly, who ever read these things?

Alrighty, let's see here:

My name is Violet, I am 24 years of age (too old to be piddlin' around here), but act more like 2 & 1/2...and I love to read, write and watch movies...like...alot...a WHOLE lot.

I found this site whilst googling for Holmes stories and well, I fell madly in love and have been going steady for quite a good stretch now.

Though I have broadened my horizons just an eency bit, as I now enjoy reading not only the Sherlock Holmes section, but the Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century, Phantom of the Opera, Spider-Man, Doctor Who and some LOTR.

Let's see, my favs are:

BOOKS: Holmes aside...!THE BIBLE, Lord Peter Wimsey, ANYTHING by Jack Cavanaugh (why is there no section for HIS work I'd like to know?) some Agatha Christie, Frank Peretti, Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, The Space Trilogy (Once again, no section?) & pretty much any other British or historical fiction on the market.

MUSIC: Michael Crawford, Steve Barton, Sarah Brightman, Evanescence, plus ONE, Nichole Nordeman, Dave Willitts, Sharon Campbell, Leslie Garrett, Rosemary Ashe, Michael Ball, Glen Close, James Staddon, & so on & so on.

MOVIES: Lord of the Rings 1,2 & 3, the Granada Series, Murder By Decree (thx 2 KCS!), all Star Wars with Han Solo, Spider-Man 1,2 & 3, Hunt for Red October, Deep Impact, National Treasure 1, Night at the Museum, Chronicles of Narnia, No Trees in the Street, Pattern for Plunder, Ghost Rider, The Ideal Husband, Singing in the Rain, I Love Melvin, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, etc.

ACTORS: Jeremy Brett (no duh), Ronald Howard, Leslie Howard, Guy Williams, Cary Grant, Errol Flynn, Laurance Olivier, David Burke, Dean Jones, Michael Crawford, Donald O'Conner, Elijah Wood, Nicolas Cage, Ewin McGregor, Jim Caveziel, David Tennant.

ACTRESSES : Debbie Reynolds, Audrey Hepburn, Deborah Kerr, Ingrid Burgman, Helena Bonham-Carter, Catherine Tate.

QUOTES:

“It is as impossible for man to demonstrate the existence of God as it would be for Sherlock Holmes to demonstrate the existence of Arthur Conan Doyle.”

- Frederick Buechner

"Today's payslip has more deductions than a Sherlock Holmes novel.”

- Raymond Cvikota

"Sad is happy for deep people."

- Sally Sparrow, 'Blink', Doctor Who.

"Quite so."

"It is my business to know what others do not know."

"Oh, amazing deduction, Lestrade."

"A pretty mess you've made of the carpet, Watson."

- Sherlock Holmes

"Zed off Yardie!"

- Fenwick

"Hiya Granny!"

- Inspector Beth Lestrade (SH22)

"WHAT THE HECK?"

- Eddie Brock in Spiderman3 (my own paraphrased version, of course)

"Gentlemen...I am here."

I warn you, sir, I've killed as many as six men in a week. Eight if you count matinees!"

- Reginald Kincaid from "Without A Clue" (That is ENTIRELY the fault of KCS:)

"I would find plenty to do for three hours while Holmes did his impression of a human chimney." - Watson

Vows made in storms are not forgotten in port.” - Lachlin

- Both from the story "Vows Made in Storms" by PGF & KCS. (It's WOW amazing, go read it instead of this horrendously mudane profile. :)

"Wait a second. How do you beat someone to death with their own skull? That doesn't scream physically possible." "That's exactly what Jimmy kept screaming."

"Nobody is perfect. I am nobody. Therefore, I am perfect."

"Suicide Hotline, please hold."

"He who laughs last had to have it explained/thinks slowest."

- All those quotes were quite unashamedly stolen from the profile of SherlockHolmesSkittle who writes some of the BEST stories around here. Seriously, go check them out. They're all on my favourites below:)

As for this particular place -

I prefer the angsty stories of hardship, violence and true comradery over all else. I'm a glutton for punishment what can I say? And Holmes & Watson are just so perfect for all that, they had a partnership like no other before or since.

I especially like that genre that sticks to the Canonical fact that Holmes not only acknowledged the existence of God, but delighted in that acknowledgement. Many may try to dispute, but hey...it's in the books, go read it, m'dears!

I STILL hate slash, and it's STILL entirely wrong. Especially with our favourite duo. To ruin a good friendship by adding sexual perversion is completely disrespectful not only to the author, but to the characters as well. But I fully understand that some people do not realize the seriousness of it, therefore I try not to be judgemental. And I don't leave hateful reviews because I think that's childish, if I don't like it I don't read it!

Moving on - I'm not fond of love stories, though some authors have done marvellous jobs at them, so I have a few exceptions. I used to say I didn't like Mary Sues, but now...well, some of them can be pretty darn hilarious.

Though I still can't stand macho-female type characters so the request for immediate personal extermination if one is ever spotted under my humble name still stands. Thanks awfully.

And a quick salute to my favorite authors:

Protector of the Gray Fortress

You guys are flippin' INCREDIBLE writers & I can only hope that my skills will improve simply by sitting in your shadows. :)

VHunter
