Hello there, welcome to my profile =D

At the moment I'm currently in the midst of writing my first ever fan fiction, it's from the manga Naruto which I'm sure most of you will have heard of and focuses on the relationship between Sakura and Itachi, my absolute favourite pairing in the Narutoverse.

I'm not sure what it is that draws me to these two characters as a pair, they just seem like them would complete ecah other to be honest and yes, I hear you scream that they're a crack pairing but really... who cares? I'd like to think the story I'm writing - which is called Facade, by the way - shall be of interest to you and I hope if you've stumbled upon me that you give it a chance!

I am by no means the most excellent writer but I do study English Lit and English Lang at college and have a real passion and devotion for my story so I hope you enjoy =D

About Façade.

The first thing I would like to point out is that I, am in fact English. This means that I use the spelling of words that I know to be correct and for you Americans this often means that there will be an extra "u" in words that you are unfamiliar with. It's not that my spelling is bad, I'm just spelling the correct way. I just thought I'd take a moment to point this out because I had a review where someone told me I'd spelt favour wrong. Thanks for the useful comment -.-

Right, now that I've gotten that out of the way, time for me to get on to my real point!

First things first: where does façade move away from manga canon?

This is a slightly tricky question and I'll explain it as best as I can. Jiraiya is dead, as is Deidara. They were killed by Pein and Sasuke respectively, just as they were in the manga. Naruto and the others did indeed go searching for Sasuke and just like in the manga they failed to find him. However, in my story it's not because Madara took him. They just lost his trail and returned to Konoha after a while - not the most exciting thing I know but it doesn't really matter to my story.

Ever since their failed mission Naruto and co. haven't been looking for Sasuke, they've been busy just training and doing missions. Nothing all that exciting really, the mission they go on at the start of façade is the first time they've attempted to bring Sasuke back in two years.

Yes, that's right. They're eighteen now and no, they aren't ANBU as they are in many stories. They've just continued to work as Team Kakashi for the most part. This is important because their team has a very strong bond which will play an importantpart in the story so to me it didn't make sense to throw them into ANBU and essentially have them all seperated.

Another difference is that Itachi never tried to talk to Naruto in the woods, nor did he tell Sasuke to come meet him in the Uchiha hideout. They didn't have their battle and both characters are alive and well.

I think the actual story is self explanatory enough from here on out.

My next point is: don't be fooled by the blurb for my story! To be honest it's my own fault for the most part, when I wrote it I didn't realise how important it was and just filled in something that would very vaguely sum up the plot. This isn't simply a

Akatsuki capture Sakura as bait Sakura hates Itachi at first Realises he's not so bad Falls in love with him.

This story has a much bigger plot than that, Sakura and Itachi simply fit into that plot. Having said that, Sakura is the heroine in façade and most events are seen through her eyes. I will dip into other characters perspectives to add dimension to the story but mainly this is about Sakura and her growth.

Lastly, my most important point! Sorry that this has turned into a bit of a rant but I really wanted to mention this as something you should think about whilst reading.

I chose the title of the story for a reason and a main theme of the story is going to be the various facades that teh different characters put up - not just Itachi.

I'm impressed if you've read all of that but I just wanted to clear some things and hopefully make the story more enjoyable =D
