11th September, 2009 (3:35pm AEST) - Hey everyone. I'm terribly sorry about the lack of updates for Definition: Life - everything's been a bit hectic for me with university mid-semester assessment and a whole lot of other crap that's been going on. I get a week-long break very soon - I'll be doing my best to have the update done by then. Just know that I certainly haven't stopped working on this story.

Final Fantasy X-2:

A Little More (COMPLETE) - A oneshot that pretty much sums up the prologue to Final Fantasy X-2, in which you see Yuna meeting with all sorts of different people, and turning down marriage proposals.

Bittersweet Reminiscence (HIATUS) - An original continuation of the story after the ending of Final Fantasy X-2 that I'd planned to write, in which Yuna suffers a miscarriage due to a mysterious force emitting from the Farplane. On hold indefinitely because, honestly, I've lost all interest in writing fanfiction for the Final Fantasy series for now.

Her Shattered Heart (HIATUS) - Another continuation set right after Final Fantasy X-2, in which Tidus starts fading away suddenly. Also a story that's on hold indefinitely, though this is due more to a combination of insufficent plot-planning on my part and a loss of interest in writing for this particular fandom.

My Locked Up Feelings (COMPLETE) - The first piece of fanfiction I ever posted on Fanfiction.net. It is also, therefore, most certainly the worst example of my work -shudders theatrically- Another oneshot set around the beginning of Chapter 5 in Final Fantasy X-2, this was written when I was fifteen and completely infatuated with the story after playing it through for the first time. Ugh.

Final Fantasy X:

Please Tell Me (COMPLETE) - My first multi-chaptered fanfiction that was originally a oneshot set in an AU situation in which Yuna finds out that Tidus is going to disappear before he actually does, and was continued only really because I received so many reviews for the first chapter, so forgive the faulty plotline and borderline harlequin romance-esque dialogue. ;D It was written when I was sixteen and procrastinating on my final semester of assessment in eleventh grade, and so it's not much better than My Locked Up Feelings.

Cold (COMPLETE) - A drabble written in my spare time - Yuna remembers the sensation of falling right through the shadow of the man she loved as she watched him disappear. Very angsty.

Elfen Lied:

Always There (COMPLETE) - A multi-chaptered story that continues after the ending of Elfen Lied, and assumes that Lucy lives through her final showdown with the SWAT team from the Diclonius Research Facility. It focuses very much on Kouta and Lucy/Nyuu's strange and turbulent relationship, it's effect on the rest of the household, and ultimately, the decision Kouta is forced to make when Lucy is, once again, in danger.

Twilight:

Midnight Waltz (HIATUS) - An AU story that was originally published just before the release of Eclipse. Alice, tired of waiting Edward to return to Bella, takes matters into her own hands and schemes to have Bella changed into a vampire so they can both be together without any problems. When Alice realises she isn't strong enough to change Bella herself, she takes her future sister to the only vampires she knows who will willingly carry out the change: The Volturi. But of course, involving them has it's own consequences - a danger that for various reasons, not even Alice could forsee. Reunited under the most bitter and resentful of circumstances, the Cullen family desperately try to escape the far-reaching influence of The Volturi, only to realise that in the end, thanks to the vampire royal family's infamous bodyguards, escape is impossible. Instead, they try to console themselves with the time they have left before they're inevitably discovered, and the knowledge that though hopeless, they won't go down without a fight. On hiatus again for now (sorry!) because I'm starting work again and don't have time to write.

Worth It (COMPLETE) - My first piece of Twilight fanfiction that was written just after I'd finished reading the book for the first time waaaay back in February 2006, before New Moon was released. There were only 30 stories in the Twilight fandom then (unbelievable, right?); it's an AU set 30 years after the events of Twilight in which Bella has been turned into a vampire by Edward and mysteriously finds herself drawn back to the little rainy town of Forks.

Persistence (COMPLETE) - Oneshot. Set right after New Moon, in which Jacob confronts Bella about her behaviour in the woods, her decision to become a vampire, and her inability to hate Edward and his family for damaging her so badly when they left her.

Selfish (COMPLETE) - Another oneshot set during Twilight - Edward reflects on the monstrosity he knows himself to be, and how much he hates himself for wanting to drink Bella's blood, and also for his selfish desire to keep her with him for all eternity. He vents his emotions the only way he knows how: through the music of his beloved piano.

Gifts (COMPLETE) - A drabble thing that I felt inspired to write after reading Sense and Sensibility. It's four seperate moments all based around Edward's wanting to give Bella presents; Bella's hate for receiving presents; and the famous line from Sense and Sensibility, in which Edward says, "My heart is, and forever shall be, yours", and is once again set in a world where Bella has been turned into a vampire without her father's knowledge.

Chasing You (COMPLETE) - A rather strange and short multi-chaptered piece that is written in second person from Jacob's point of view that's set at the end of New Moon. He confronts Bella one last time before he loses her forever. AU. Very angsty.

Break Down (COMPLETE) - A very tragic oneshot that I was inspired to write after obsessively listening to Rupert Wainwright's version of "Hallelujah" - the version featured on the Shrek Soundtrack. This is another AU written well before the release of Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, in which Jacob is dying of old age as a werewolf, and Bella - now a vampire - arrives in just enough time to say goodbye.

Come Back (COMPLETE) - A oneshot that revolves around my version of Emily and Sam's story, and how Emily came to bear those horrible scars down the left side of her body. Now probably considered AU because the events were properly explained in Eclipse.

Play Your Part (COMPLETE) - A oneshot that I had a delightful time writing which is from Aro's point of view. He reflects on Edward, Bella and Alice's visit, and how much he enjoyed himself then, and how much he's looking forward to Bella becoming a vampire.

Fall To Pieces (COMPLETE) - A reflective piece in Bella's point of view in which she comes to realise the necessity of having Jacob in her life now that Edward has left. Set during New Moon.

Shell - An experimental piece in which I tried to explore the more animalistic side of immortality and the sacrifice of humanity that that entails. Another AU story in which Bella meets up with Jacob while visiting Charlie's grave. Bella vehmently defends her actions, while Jacob scolds her for choosing to be ignorant of the consequences.

Desperation (COMPLETE) - A challenge issued by sillybella in which we had to write the what we thought Bella's response would be to Jacob's letter in chapter one of Eclipse in exactly 100 words.

Empathy (COMPLETE) - A very long oneshot that I'd written out of a desire to explore more of Jasper and Bella's relationship as new siblings, and also how much Jasper would struggle with a newborn vampire in the house because of his sensitivity to emotions. This is also how I thought Bella should have turned out - I didn't like Breaking Dawn at all. :P

High Noon (HIATUS) - Jacob's version of Eclipse. On hold for now simply because I don't have the time to be writing more than one multi-chaptered story at the moment. I have a few chapters written, but I don't see any point in posting them when I'm not going to be writing for the story until I finish my other projects.

Facade (HIATUS) - A series of oneshots that explore the opinions and reactions of various people at Forks High School to Bella and Edward's relationship, as well as how their lives are advancing over the pass of time. Inevitably, they will all come across both Bella and Edward at one point...What will happen? On hiatus because, again, I don't have the time to write for it at the moment. For now, I can only focus on one project at a time.

I'm over on The Host Library as well. If you haven't done so already, it's definitely worth a look. It's an exlusive archive very much the same as Pel's Twilight Fanfiction site, just for The Host, so you know that there's going to be plenty of good stuff worth reading!
