Prior to the War of the Ring, Kagome wakes up in Minas Tirith with nothing more than the clothes on her back and no memory of her life prior to waking. She now wields vast powers of darkness, but still no memory of where they came from. Over time, her memories return as she journeys with the Fellowship across Middle Earth, joining them in their quest to destroy the One Ring.

They had hoped she could find peace in the new land. The god of that land had promised she would find peace and happiness and she does in a kind elf named Lindir.

Driven by her desires, Kikyo sends both Kagome and Sesshomaru to Middle Earth. Once there, they have to make a decision. Will they help in the quest to save the world, or will they sit back and watch it all play out. If only Kagome could justify doing the later.
