Spirit grinned. "Come here!" The younger boy crossed the sand toward him, eyeing his hands with a slightly narrowed gaze. "Not an octopus," Spirit said, hesitating.

Spirit slowly stood and turned to face everyone. He grinned briefly, ran a hand back through his hair as he cleared his throat, and his expression grew nervous as blue eyes began slowly scanning the small crowd.
