|Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I will accompany all errors/areas of improvement with compliments (so I'm possibly not the best option if you want a really blunt beta reader). I can be quite picky about spelling and grammar. I'm British, so please be aware that I may try to correct American spelling, though I try to avoid that. I'm a relatively slow but very visual reader and I heavily rely on being able to picture everything in my mind, to hear the characters speaking, meaning I am very sensitive to out-of-character-ness.
|My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I can pick up out-of-character-ness well, and will gladly point out punctuation, grammar or spelling errors (and I think I'm quite good at it, both my own opinion and proof in grades etc). I can also help if English isn't your mother tongue.
|My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not too good at formatting, like paragraphing etc, both in writing and in beta-reading. In writing, my endings are usually sentimental or romance, so do be aware I may not give the best advice should you want to write your ending otherwise. I can find it hard to give advice on the overall plot or the overall style of writing. I can come up with ideas and help with brainstorming but don't expect me to come up with the perfect solution for you. Advice I will give regardless.
|Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
Most things with a bit of action in, though that doesn't mean only fanfictions with action. I love a good mystery, adventure, kidnapping, capture or romance. Also, anything that gives me suspense or exciting will probably win with me. I love happy endings, hurl whatever troubles you like at me in your plot, just make it end somewhat happy :)
|Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Death fics, crossovers (interest me enough and I might say yes but I'll be hesitant), no descriptive sex, no M (though there are exceptions, depends what the rating is for), I'm not particularly keen on AUs using a different time period or place (e.g.: college, modern, wild west, WWII), though that doesn't mean that just because you use a different time, I'll turn it down. If you intrigue me, I'll take it. AUs that deviate from canon but are still using the same time and place are usually fine. I'm not keen on slow-burns. If I feel like something is dragging on for me (subjectively speaking) I won't be inclined to say yes.
