|Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I won't be too overly picky, but some things just need to be said. Also, good fanfiction is much more than good grammar, sentence structure, ect. If your story is totally pointless and going nowhere, then I'll (politely) give you a few pointers that can make it more captivating. I'm not here to be your English teacher. I'm here to fix mistakes, and there are more mistakes than grammer when it comes to good writing. But I'm not going to make your miserable. People write fanfictions because it makes them happy.
|My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
If you're looking for someone honest but not the the point of rudeness, who will let you know what's wrong that need some tweaking and also what's right and should be continued, look no further. Personal strenghts-- when it comes to character interaction, and just keeping characters IN character, I'm pretty good as far as this is concerned. Also (like your fifth grade english teacher told you fifty times), stories with the same kind of simple, "baby" sentences over and over are horrible to read. I'm pretty good at getting paragraph and sentence flow.
|My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm actually /not/ that great at catching spelling mistakes. The first thing I'll do is read through your story, looking for spelling and grammar flaws, and then read through it a second time because, well, I'm not perfect. I'm going to let a few things go under the radar, but of course I'm going to make my biggest effort not to let anything go.
|Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I really like stories that make you Think, Sigh, Laugh, or Cry. Really, the ones that just get you. Either that, or have you on the edge of your chair, going, "WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?" AU is fine, as long as it's not completely screwed up.
|Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
PLZ JUZT UZE SPEL CHEKZ MMKAH. I am not your spell check! Before you give me a document, please, PLEASE put it through Word, or some other spell-checking device, so that I can at least read what you've written. Spell check is your friend as a writer. Also, and slightly more importantly, when writing fanfiction, you are always using another author's characters and ideas. In respect to this, I'd preffer nothing too out of character. It's not right or fair to take someone's developed, personally created character and morph it into someone that you preffer, or someone that is convenient in your story. Also, sorry people, but NO OCxMAIN CHARACTER. I will not read anything where your OC falls in love with the main character. I don't mind OC's as long as there is no romance, but please, people...
